>>> It is not a choice; if it was I rather doubt anyone would chose it as it is a very tough life.

Dave, I don't think that logic holds water. We could say the exact same thing about drug addiction, obesity, compulsive gambling, alcoholism, kleptomania, any manner of self-destructive behavior we can name. Why would someone choose any of them?

Because they fall victim to evil in one form or another and to one degree or another. Every single one of us can relate to that, yes? I sure can!

When boys or young men are victimized by an acquaintance who plies and seduces them into homosexual acts and made to experience sexual pleasure with another male, how is he to escape?

Polls indicate that a large percentage of homosexual men were victims of just such situations.

Other sociological and psychological factors also come into play. There is not one simple reason compelling people into the behavior.

The fact that thousands have renounced homosexual behavior and adopted a normal moral heterosexual lifestyle proves that the behavior is chosen, not at all involuntary.

Besides, who you love has ZERO to do with the issue of committing sodomy in my view. I love my dog. I have ZERO inclination to have sex with him. I love a number of my very good friends. I have ZERO inclination to kiss them on the lips or engage in sodomy with them.

Genetics does not guarantee outcome of propensity toward a given behavior. It may occur, but it is not guaranteed to occur.

My take is, gay or lesbian homosexuality is usually the result of trauma. Trauma can be treated. Perhaps not successfully.

Court,

If only I had time, I'd do a photoshop of Darrell's head on some sexy boot-wearing babe's body.

For now, this'll have to do...

SO you are saying you, yourself can learn to be gay?

Where is the 'dummies' book for that!?

it is a choice, because man has free will
otherwise you hve to admit that we are all just animals one notch above flinging poo on each other....
oh I suppose there is a web site already dedicated to that.

Take responsibility for it. If you are gay, then be gay, don't play some 'victim' card to it.
May you enjoy all the f'd up things that a relationship brings; and hell divorce too

Don't I know it! : )

Rest easy comrade. My comment was in response to Andy's (Drkside's) statement that "it would be good if more people would admit just that fact (we are all just animals one notch above flinging poo on each other)" and his further statement that "Sometimes i believe we are a step below some of the Poo throwers".

That view describes in a nutshell how most far-left liberals view humanity, or at least how they perceive western civilization; the term punitive liberalism is a good descriptor of just such diseased thinking.

I simply don't understand the blind acceptance by Leftists of the erosion of liberty, although the persistent ebb transpires at a glacial pace. We are slowly being transformed into a People who is afraid to take risks, claims victimhood, blames the "Rich" for their problems, and is blind to the blessings that continually surround us even in these troubled times.

I grew up building forts and treehouses. We would play attacker and defender, usually with rocks, until someone drew blood after getting smacked in the noggin. No one ever died. We would get on our Schwinns and ride miles on fantastical adventures. We came back. We climbed trees only to sometimes fall off and break an arm. That kid survived but he could not play tackle football with the rest of us until he healed.

It doesn't seem like that anymore. At least in SoCal.

It seems like all the kids just hang out and play video games. There just doesn't seem to be risk taking. We will pay a heavy price for this someday when the Pussification of America is complete. On the other hand, maybe our country will successfully be defended by fighter jets controlled remotely by 14 year olds who have done nothing but play "Fighter Jock" on their computers all their life. The Worm turns.

Merry Christmas.

Danger_dave:

Excellent point but there will always be exceptional people. However, you have to study the entire graph to get the entire picture In America, kids are being taught that they are all winners regardless of natural abilities, hard work, or being a slacker. Effort doesn't matter. Let's kick back, spark up, and, play our video games. We are all winners! Everyone gets a trophy! Yay!

However, if everyone is a winner, than one can equally argue that everyone is a loser. If we keep on this silly path, then eventually America will lose the brass ring. It doesn't have to happen as America is still the greatest country and idea in the history of countries. America was built on winners, not some amorphous feel good mentality that we are injecting ourselves with. Feelings are more important than hard fought achievements in iAmerica.

I reject iAmerica. I work at Broadcom where the vast majority of my peers are native born Chinese and Indian. Almost without exception, they are bright and they clearly know the difference between winning and losing. They learned it from their parents and their society that places achievement first. My co-workers are teaching me daily of how to make America great again. They are fantastic people and some of them have decided to become Americans. I welcome them with open arms.

Oh yeah, Merry Christmas. There really, truly is Hope.

Funny, I am limiting my stuff, selling off what I can, and eying moving overseas.

I see it as sinking. And without a correction from free thinking risk taking Constitutionally motivated Americans; this place is done.

City,

I hear ya 'bro but you might consider that you might be mistaken. America is great and you can find it under the letter R in the dictionary: Resilience is its name. Very few countries come close to living in the same county as that.

Merry Christmas.

'Resilience' is exactly the reason I am headed the F outta here.
If you have read the reports and WARN-Os are for that you would too, or start massing your supplies now.

Resilience is the new code go word for all the 'response' tactics for civil disobedience, anti government agression, disaster relief and incarceration.
It is not your friend. It is exactly how they intend to use the new 'commissioned corps' from the health care bill; that is presidentially appointed, and directly responsible to his authority (not the constitution, not the governor)
Read it, its ugly.
There have been 3 drills in Seattle about 'emergency response' the last with simunition and 'civilian actors' playing disruptive, displaced, crowd.

You here BHO give the word Resilience in a speech about a crisis.... lock and load.

it makes MACDIS look like a parade.
