I'm no fan of disco, but I love music in general and I gotta say there were some really good songs that came out of that time period.

I love disco...it's demise was the cost of it. Disco bands typically had a BUNCH of members. Hard to make much money when when you have to split the profits 25 ways. And saying Brick House is disco is a travesty. It's pure funk. I only wish I could play that funky bass line, but I can't slap for sh**.

"Lady Marmalade" comes to mind... +1 on KC and the Sunshine Band- every Sunday on the way to church, or whenever, we'd stop at Waffle House and I'd have to go drop a few quarters in the jukebox- they were always a fave!! How bout "Disco Duck"?

Disco = chics. Only reason I went. Did pretty well in my tight leathers and XS1100 out front. Averaged 8s till I got into new wave. Fortunately it used the same clothes. Black leather works anywhere.

Disco. I remember seeing Earth Wind & Fire at the Univ of Dayton in 1979. Not strictly disco but then again not radically different either. Also got a chance to see Chaka Kahn up close and personal at a USO show in Korea in the early 80s. Talk about your brick houses.....But as for a favorite song, it has to be "I Will Survive" but only because of it's role in the movie "The Replacements"

Hmmm born in 71. You on a magic mushroom ride while this was going on??lol Disco was dead by 1980. I would have been 9. I was more into Led Zeppelin, Steve Miller Band, and the Eagles. Then came Michael Jackson, Sugar Hill Gang, Queen, ACDC, Joan Jett, Human League, Van Halen, Herbie Hancock, Prince, etc.
