I woulda put this in the model specific areas, but it is for multiple Buells. I need some covers for my bikes. I don't know what to buy. I tried to shop @ various stores, but the why they describe and size the covers are confusing to a Buell owner? Is my 9R smaller that a "250cc"? Is thing big enuf for my Uly? Will this fit nicely over my large 1125R faring? I just don't know. Instead my buying and retuning all sorts of cover I was hoping yall could offer suggestions. Covers needed for bike kept outside: 9R no mirrors. 12X no mirrors. 1125R has mirrors. I need something to cover just about all of the bike. I would like something that is not too big and floppy/cumbersome to cover the bike. I don't think these so called "Dust covers" we be any good, since these covers could see rain and sun. Cheaper the better. All recommendations, suggestions, and snide remarks are welcome. | ||

In the past I've used a tarp. Cover the bike, and use small bungee cords in the grommets to keep it secure. Worked well for me. | ||

In my experience, the damage from rain/sun/snow is better than what a cover will do to your paint and/or glossy plastic surfaces while the wind is blowing it around. | ||

If you have seen my 9R of Uly you will realize I dont care about scratches or finish. I just get tired of cleaning pollen, dust and bird fecal matter. | ||

I love my Tour King half-cover. It tucks under the headlights, goes over the windshield and bars and over my top box, and tucks in beneath that. It also fits over my side cases. Similar to this:  It keeps the seat/electronics dry, and keeps people away from the crap bolted to my handlebars, but folds into a much smaller bag than the full covers. Folded up, it's about the size of a 20 ounce bottle. For my uly (with the tall shield and full luggage) I use a cover made for an H-D Ultra Classic. Matt, I can't remember the brand name, but there's a type of "framed"/tent type cover that comes in several sizes- what I've seen folds over/open by half, then back over and closed to cover the bike(s). IIRC they weren't too pricey, looked sturdy, didn't necessarily even touch the bike(s), kewl stuff. Cycledome? Heck I can't remember. Good luck!! | ||

I have this one from oxford and I love this cover there is no rain getting in it and it has a soft inside to keep it from scratching the bike. I bought a fairly pricey (neigh on $99) cover last month that I **think** (I'll check) was a tourmaster. It's fairly lame. I used a full size HD dresser cover for 2 years. It covered the bags and everything on the Uly nicely but rotted out. I think . . after a couple pricey ones . . I'd try the $40 and give it a whirl. | ||

That's it, Ford- thanks for help with the brain obstruction... Didn't realize they cost quite that much- however, in Matt's case, getting one the right size to cover all 3 bikes might be worth it. Yeah, seems like someone on BW had mentioned this before... Really not too bad an idea when you think about it- should be able to find cheap tents a LOT easier than fancy bike covers... | ||
