today i was riding my bike and the turn signals and the brites werent working so i did the obvious thing and checked the fuses...that wasnt the problem...so i start looking at the switch box, that is where i saw the most disgusting thing ive ever seen...ALL of my wires leading to the box were CUT (CLEAN) so i have to available circumstances either some ••••••• was trying to steal my bike or some @$$hole was just vandalizing it...

so now im putting an alarm on my bike, and i need to know what everyone thinks the best buy is for alarms...im leaning toward scorpion SR-i600 or i900

ALL OPINIONS APPRECIATED!

also it was uncovered (cause im an idiot) in my apartment complex parking lot.

THANK YOU

Every time I hear an alarm going off, I look to see people responding. They don't respond. If you can't hear the alarm over all your noise, it's no value. It can't do it's job.

I don't bother with alarms.

Can't really help when it's an apartment parking complex. I had vehicle damage years ago and sued the landlord. We settled on converting my claim to rent payment.

"I don't bother with alarms. "

+1

When I hear a car alarm I assume the neighbor's cat jumped up on the hood. I do not associate it with potential criminal activity. Too many alarms crying wolf for too many years. We're all numb.

I had the scorpio i-800

biggest waste of money EVER!
it would go off randomly for no reason the proxy sensor was sensitive some days and non functional other days and half the time the RFID tag didn't want to work and when it failed I also couldn't shut the alarm off with the key fob remote.
I spent MONTHS trying to get it sorted out with scorpio and they never fixed the problem and refused to refund my money.

I told my buddy about all the isues I was having and he still wanted to try the alarm anyway an he bought it from me for his 636 and seems to like it but has intermittent isues as well but he never hooked up the proxy sensor so it may have been the root of the problem and the FIVE times scorpio had the alarm they never figured it out.

long and short
don't buy a scorpio alarm, way more trouble than they are worth.

Kryptonite brand stuff, properly anchored, should do the trick.

Just remember to detach, stow and go, in that order- don't forget stuff locked to the wheels!!

Surely there's a MC zine or 3that's done a recent comparo...

I just re-upped my Motorcycle Consumer News scrip, betcha there's something in their archives that could help you...

Good luck- I still recommend heavy duty hardware instead of the fancy gizmos...

Oh yeah- KEEP UP PROPER INSURANCE on the damn thing.
