unfortunately this was not one of the options that I got to vote for or against...

This isn’t Democrat, Republican, Libertarian, Tea Party, Green Party or Independent; it’s the Right Thing for all parties
.

THIS IS HOW YOU FIX CONGRESS!!!!!

**********************************
Congressional Reform Act of 2010

1. Term Limits.

12 years only, one of the possible options below..

A. Two Six-year Senate terms
B. Six Two-year House terms
C. One Six-year Senate term and three Two-Year House terms

2. No Tenure / No Pension.

A Congressman collects a salary while in office and receives no pay when they are out of office.

3. Congress (past, present & future) participates in Social Security.

All funds in the Congressional retirement fund move to the Social Security system immediately. All future funds flow into the Social Security system, and Congress participates with the American people.

4. Congress can purchase their own retirement plan, just as all Americans do.

5. Congress will no longer vote themselves a pay raise. Congressional pay will rise by the lower of CPI or 3%.

6. Congress loses their current health care system and participates in the same health care system as the American people.

7. Congress must equally abide by all laws they impose on the American people.

8. All contracts with past and present Congressmen are void effective 1/1/11.

The American people did not make this contract with Congressmen. Congressmen made all these contracts for themselves.

Serving in Congress is an honor, not a career. The Founding Fathers envisioned citizen legislators, serve your term(s), then go home and back to work.

Armed revolution is the only answer.

It starts with the term limits...

It starts with you must finish first term before running for the next position...

I.E. A Congressman can not run for Senate without finishing term or abandoning current seat.

This would change the landscape.

You want change....
By ballot, or bullet, the bums are out.
Term limits are good enough for the president, they should be fine for congress/senate.

Any time they want to talk about taxes, lets make sure all of the staffers are current BEFORE any assessment to the general public.

one hundred and fifty years ago a president from Illinois was elected... guess what happened next...

This time progress I think can be done by vote... but it will be take more than 1 or 2 election cycles... and it will take a strong commitment to not so common sense.

I want to fix the government the same way I fixed my cat and dog.

One at a time, form a line.

It's high time that elected officials were scared shitless of their constituents.

They don't fear us. They don't respect us.

I suspect that will change for some after November.

Revolution is the surest way to kill our nation's preeminent position in the world. This country needs to be built up, not torn down.

There is nothing you may want that cannot be accomplished under our current system. Nothing. You want it? Put it in the Constitution. End of story.

Our preeminent position is being destroyed under our very noses. With a few flicks of a pen, Congress and Obama have guaranteed debtor status to nearly every country on the planet for the foreseeable future. The next steps will be to monetize that debt, destroy our credit rating as well as destroy the value of the dollar on the global market.

A civil war would be a temporary blip whereas the projected deficits have no end in sight.

I pray that we are able to stem the tide in this election and the one to follow. If not, the ONLY answer left will be armed conflict.

Ask Greece.

I wish that "putting it in the Constitution" was a guarantee of liberty. The Constitution, if the current course is not reversed, will be nothing but a hollow shell, meaningless in effect.

Don't believe me?

Under what provision of the Constitution is the Federal Government given the power to compel one private citizen to purchase a good or service from another private citizen?

The Constitution is dead. The citizenry simply haven't been informed yet.

Who's bleeding-heart, lying, evil friggin' progressive congressman is that?

If we can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretext of caring for them, we must be happy.
