A local shop is asking $140 to change the oil if I bring the legs in. That would be 2 hrs of labor, which seems high if you have the right tools. For that money, I might try the ratchet tie-down method and do it myself. Opinions?

The ratchet method worked fine. It actually is very simple and should be problem if one takes his time.

I use the ratchet strap method, but you could buy all the real tools and oil for about $100.

I used the traxxion fork compressor with with cambuckle type lashing straps (as the required 'third hand') with decent results.
