Anyone know a source for the plastic clips that connect the trunk bag to the saddle bags? want to make some straps to clip the trunk bag when I don't have the saddle bags attached. Can't seem to find any that are the same type. No manufacture stamps or anything on the clips, or the bags. How about who made the bags for Buell?

I would try a back-packing supply store, like REI, or what ever may be in your neck of the woods.

I looked and looked but couldn't find the matching buckles ended up ordering them from the stealership...doubt you can do that now but worth a try. Never know they might have them in the back room. Only a couple of bucks as I recall

In fact I found the package

Part # 92169-05Y

Quick Release, Female

It's dated 02/26/09

These were for the tank bag and are the one that screw to the airbox bolts location.

Good Luck

I've been around to craft type stores and they all have plenty of similar buckles, but the internal design of this one is different. If the Fastex pictures showed the internal design, I'd be able to tell they are the same, but the outsides when they are locked together all look the same....

Are the tank bag buckles the same as the trunk/saddle bag one's?

Dealer might be a good option.

Ducbsa - thanks for the fastex reference, found www.itwnexus.com, which is part of fastex, and it looks like they might be the one's since they have what looks like the same buckle that is attached to the saddle bag.

Called my local dealer and the tank bag part number showed up in stock at White's HD in Lebanon PA.

Looks like I have a few leads now.. thanks! I'll post back up what I find in case anyone else wants to make some straps that interface with the saddlebags / trunk bag. Thinking some straps to attach to the saddlebags in case you have a duffel or something you want to strap down, or a way to secure the trunk bag by itself.

I need to do something like that too,
my clip near the seat is causing wear and a divit when I run without the bag. proabably put the clamp and and ring set up to the other two leads, and maybe a leather peice to keep the ring from scratching the plastic....or just take off the clips when not riding the bag...

I've found them at Gander Mountain in the camping section. Walmart also has some.
JoAnn Fabric has them as well.
As some have mentioned, they are not all the same. Make sure you get the right one.
