I have been doing some work with Ohlin's, a couple of DIY videos, and now they are in the process of producing some different high performance suspension options for us BUELL riders! It will be available only at

http://www.motorcyclemetal.com/gpage18.html

Please check it out, I know it is still under construction right now, but stay tuned, this is hopefully going to be something big!!!

I found this particularly interesting...lol

Ask Amy's Blog: Ask her anything about suspension, if she does not know it, she will get you the answer. Disclosure: (For off-color/inappropriate questions be forewarned: She gets mad easily and she has been known to travel depending upon the magnitude of the offense

When are you gonna do an XB DIY video on the front? Like maybe a Uly? I need to do a service, and still feel nervous about it.

Thanks : )

Good job Amy!

What are the main differences for 20, 25 and 30mm cartridges? I mean, why should I choose one or the other? OK, I don't know anything about forks.

Thanks, very instructive videos.

I don't mean this in a sexest way but I think it is kinda cool that a woman knows way more about part of a motorcycle than I do...

Tepid,

Just a regular service. What should have been done at 10K, I hope to do at 20K. Fluid change is all I think. There are a lot of small parts, and I don't have all the tools. I plan on making some like Dr. Greg has.

I have not seen your XB12Ss vid, but am going to look at it now. Thanks : )

Whisper- when I changed the pistons and valves I had 11,000 miles or so, and everything actually looked very clean. You could probably get away with only draining and refilling the fork oil, but it is never a bad idea to take it all apart, and thoroughly clean all of the little parts in there!

Amy I loved the videos on the what do you look like thread and now I'm checking out your DIY on your web site. Very cool how did you get into wrenching and suspension upgrades. I have to do both of my Buells a 2000 X1 and my 2007 Uly. Uly first and I was thinking about putting stiffer springs in there because the front is soft when I teach TC. I'm going to change out the triple trees too. Facebook page?

I got into wrenching when I was married to a completely lazy bum, and if I wanted something done, I would have to do it myself! Then I got a job working at Jiffy Lube and fell in love! I started turning my own wrenches on my bike because I cannot afford to pay someone to do something as simple as righty tighty lefty loosey (except when left hand thread). A friend of mine approached me to do the first HD Ohlin's video, and the guys at Ohlin's liked it, so they decided they wanted more, and I decided that I wanted something for my bike... the rest is history!

neat righty tighty lefty loosey Ha ha! Love it! In my work with safes I do that sometimes I have a brain fart. I starting to get interested in wrenching on my bikes too. I've been married twice and I got into wood work and more home improvement stuff, now I'm a locksmith. I'm starting to work on my latest X1M I bought last July, replacing parts.

Amy, Changing the fluid was all I was going to do. But even that involves taking the shocks apart. It's something I'll tackle when its colder, and I won't get too upset if the bike is down for a while.

The vids on the "what do you look like" thread helped to give me a better idea of what needs to be done. Wish I had the compression jig you have set up.

Oh, Just how far can you travel for an offense? Seeing has how your PO won't let you go very far ; )

In the "what do you look like" thread, you talked about your PO, and not leaving the county. In this thread Ferris quoted the off color comments thing on your blog. I just put the two together. : )
