While watching Discovery Channel tonight, I noticed an 1125 or 1190 during a commercial for the upcoming new season of MythBusters. You can see the Erik Buell Racing logo on the front fairing.

Didn't see it, but on episodes in the past an 1125R has been seen in the backround. Apparently it's Jamie's!

I saw the same thing last night... looked like it was carrying a banner or sheet of material behind it. I know Jamie is the 1125r owner...

Maybe we should just send them an email and ask... Jamie might even lurk here...never know!

They are using it to pull a tablecloth from a set table. I posted on Erik's Facebook page and he confirmed it is in fact one of his bikes.

I keep thinking we should organize an effort to email them a bunch of motorcycle myths. I'm sure they could do a whole show on that. Who's game?

Maybe they could even explore if the ZTL brakes are better then conventional brakes???

How about an episode how a heavy 1125cc bike dosen't have a huge advantage over light 600cc bikes?

Tensile strength of a drive belt?

Or how about "water doesn't kill Uly rear bearings"?

Why right side scoops are bad?

Test of different oils?

Why the 1125R is the best motorcycle ever built, even better than the S2?

I do hope it really is someone's personal cycle, you guys have seen what they do to test specific vehicles and it would be sad to see a cheap 1125 get wrecked for entertainment. They certainly aren't above dropping a few thousand on retired police cars just to rip the rear axle out of them or drop them from a crane after the duct tape lets go. The only vehicles that survive are the ones that cast and crew own.

Hmmm....ok Froggy. Swing through Frederick on your way to BTF4 and pick me up. I'll saddle up the S2 and you can ride your 1125. We'll take the Blue Ridge Parkway down : )

the main difference here being, I actually own both models - 1125 and S2 - and understand each one's strengths : )

You don't want me to embarrass you with fuel economy on the BRP. I do plan on hitting that on the way home, I got 54mpg on the CR last year, I want to break 60 on the R.

I pwned Spiderman's tuber on the way to homecoming at every gas stop, and we were going crazy speeds. Carbs just don't cut it. : )

True....if you're only measuring on the basis of MPG.

It's just a bigger picture for me. I listen to the *motorcycle*, and not just the dings on the gas pump.

But...different strokes is just fine : )

So your tuber is a FAG bike? I like the nice tap tap of the 1125's eight valves. : )

Did I say 'exhaust'?

MOTORCYCLE.

A tuber speaks volumes while you go down the road. The frame flexes and twists just enough in hard cornering to let you know you're getting close to that edge. The suspension, while adjustable, is nowhere near as precise as the newer bikes. The brakes are strong, but not as progressive. Is it a totally competent motorcycle (the S2?) - absolutely. Do I appreciate the fact that it's 16 model years old now, and still performing (and LOOKING) great?

You bet!

I LOVE all the "english" I get from my tubers, it really is refreshing. I don't ride motorcycles to be totally insulated from what's going on...and on a tuber, you're *immersed* in the ride. XB's and Loki's are great bikes...but much more insulatory by comparison.

But...I do love 'em all.

I like the tap of 2 valves.
Screw you guys with adjustable suspension and tires available at any sport bike shop.

What's this stuff about right side scoops bad?

Anyway, I think its great that Mythbusters is Buell friendly. They are probably testing the BMW S1000RR Commercial of the bike pulling the table cloth out. Hellforleather did a similar one but much better ; )

I was hoping for ideas that are more suitable for what they do on MythBusters. Such as possibly... Can an expert rider break better with or without ABS. Maybe have Geoff May as an expert test rider?

Of course the old counter steering thing can be easily tested. I here some folks still doubt this works.

Anything that would be a good excuse for Jaime to show off his Buell would be great exposure.

Sifo, they already proved that an expert rider CAN brake faster without ABS, on dry pavement, and in a controlled environment. Real world testing proves ABS is champ.

Just saw the ad from the OP again, and you can actually hear a v-twin rumble--not the wing-a-wing-wing you hear from the standard 'sport bike' on the screen.

3) chain drive
4) reflectors
5) no mirrors
6) has a rear cowl for a back seat
7) doesnt appear to be any passenger pegs
8) cant be an RS based on the exhaust and large front fairing

I'm pretty sure it's the race version of the 1125R:

Does this have anything to do with the s1000rr commercial where they jerk the tablecloth from under a set table over 20 feet long? I've seen it. I think it is fake. The tablecloth spent WAY too much time under the dishes to not tip over s single glass.
