i use it so i can see the granddaughter grow up some 1300 miles away or so. it a lot easier for the daughter to download pics to face book than trying to send them to me through email. other than that, don't use it very much.

I've had a great time reconnecting with old friends and distant family.

I'm not real keen on it but, like others, I am really enjoying catching up with some old friends and my son and daughter in law update the photos of my Granddaughter much more often than they send photos. Much easier to post them than try to e-mail to tons of folks. It's the way their generation is communicating and I'm cool with that.

What DOES, in my sunset years, amaze me is how so many younger folks post everything . . . . I had to admonish a friend, a fellow student, who is a model (you've seen her pics and her house on TV) and now Project Manager at the World Trade Center to NOT post her home #, cell number, address, part number, work hours and her SSN. Call me old fashioned, but when I explained to her that the entire world wasn't comprised of the casts of a Disney film she got it.

I suppose all those unsavory comments apply to each of us to a degree . . . but among the vices, bad habits and things I've done in my life . . . they pale. It's kinda fun.

I got sucked into Facebook in the exact same manner as Mr. Grumpy. Just wanted to look at photos of a weekend ride. I do not care what you are having for dinner and I do not care that your favorite pet just crapped on your new hardwood floor. But of course I don't want to miss the important stuff so I do check it out a few times a week.

Look at the last screen on the Man in the Box 'Facebook Abuse' the guy has like 300+ ex-girlfriends instead of friends...

I have a NO EX-BOYFRIEND policy... not really sure why, but I don't want them knowing anything about what I am up to I guess...

I have been pissed and un-friended, then had to ask to be re-friended... now I just Hide people that annoy me... but if you are a totally useless poster I will un-friend...

Also, if it is not positive it doesn't go in the status... in general... if I want sympathy or pity I am putting it out there for the wrong reason...

AND MR. GRUMPY IS MY FRIEND!!!! I feel so special now... off to work... if you wanna play hard ya gotta work hard...

Hey Neil, there is a free program called Skype. If you have a camera on your pc or laptop. It is great for the long distance family living.

DD, I should see if you have a facebook page so you can experience a proper "stalk"-ing. Ha Ha.
Do I use too many "" for you? I always think that I do this......too much. But it is hard to convey tone and inflection in the typed word. And then there is , of course,....comedic timing ;o)
