although I would love the opportunity to bash HD management, they are just doing what many other manufactures are doing .. Anything necessary to cut cost without picking up and leaving. OR folding completely Rick |

HD is fighting for its very life. Unfortunately, that fight is being led by dishonorable and unqualified men. |

Of course it's all Barack Obama's fault. Ok, so, it's take the deal or we fire you all. HD has other plants, and it's cheaper to move the equipment than pay you guys. Besides, it's cheaper there. It's not like current management has any emotional stake in the product, the place or especially, those pesky workers. Give them another few years and they will make them in Vietnam. Not to bash the HD motorcycle lovers, but would you really decide to buy a $15 thousand dollar machine that can be said to be old tech, heavy, and slow, if it's not imbued with that sense of pride and heritage that is the Hog. If you know it's the product of guys not getting paid enough to ever afford one, working for a foreign company that has no soul, since they sold it long ago? What if Kawasaki has it's new Concours designed & built by American workers in Nebraska ( where they make ATV's and Jet Ski's today, but did and easily could build street bikes ) with feedback from American sport touring riders? It may be that to keep the company going you have to downsize. Still sucks to lose your job because management are idiots. |

HD sells are down over 80% from a few years back... they need to make it to the other side and its gonna a be a suck fest until they get there. I'm just happy I still have a job... even if I do hate it.... some days I would rather set my junk on fire and put it out with a ice pick than go into work.... |

The worst part about this is that I have to wake up at 5am to get ready to vote an hour away. At least I'll get $12k for gas money. Oh, and I'll be riding my Buell, and wearing either my MV Agusta or Erik Buell Racing Relentless shirt and Buell hat. |

HD isn't just screwing their employees, suppliers are constantly being low-balled, and the city of Milwaukee might bend over, too. http://www.jsonline.com/blogs/business/102547424.h tml |

No offense to anyone but $30.50 an hour is damn attractive to me! What's the cost of living like around that part of the country? |

Honestly, I am very happy with the bikes I already have, and that money will probably just go in the bank. I do like the Ducati Hypermotard though...

Ft_bstrd said it best. They are fighting for their lives. I have a few bikes in mind. It's just a matter of when and which I ride first, and of course, the means to pick it up. I will be getting a sport touring machine soon, and my Buell ain't goin' nowhere. Too bad HD's top end blows it out the bottom end so bad.
