When the stock Exhaust pipe broke on my Buell Blast I replaced it with D&D Exhaust because it was about $50.00 cheaper than stock and for the performance increase. The added power to the Blast Engine was great but the sound at open Throttle would make your Ears Bleed (even with Ear Plugs). To solve the problem I added a Universal Baffle (cost $6.00 to $7.00 local independent parts dealer) to the D&D header pipe before the muffler. I started with the Twelve Inch baffle trim it to fit and drilled it for air flow, sound and performance. Its the same Baffle I run in the Fishtails on my old Shovelhead.

I have a Vance and Hines on my M2. Very loud, even after packing. It is too loud to start up at night at my house. I am thinking of going to the stock muffler, or trying to find a supertrap.
I have a super trap on my S2. It is not over loud, and in fact I think a little more quiet that the 1125CR muffler. That muffler and motor is loud. When I fire it up at night, say around 10 pm, most of the neighbors know it. The S2 is fairly quiet with the super trap. REX

i never thought my vance and hines was loud, not compared to whats running on it. After using my bike for my only form of transportation these last 2 weeks ive decided the full system on there now has to go.
Bartimus, I checked Erik Buell Racing site for the ECM and they had Drummer,D&D and Jardine I did not notice a ECM for a Special OPS. I have a 04 Lightning. Do you know what one I need? Is there any way to get rid of the pop pop pop with out the ECM? My brother was thinking that the pop pop pop was from using the old header and exhaust clamp on the Special OPS. I just picked up a new clamp yesterday for my brother and ordered one for my bike. What would Odie do?

I just installed the Special OPS pipe. Took the bike for a ride it sounds great. I put a new clamp on the header and the muffler and did not get much pop pop pop in deceleration. My ears were pounding so I will be wearing ear plugs. If I remember.

I just went back to my stock pipe. I hit a rock and crushed my Drummer. It sure is wierd to hear the wind and not the bike.. I've been riding it for about a week with the stocker, at times I miss it but when I get off the bike and my ears aren't ringing I don't. And leaving at 330am my neighbors might be happy. Performance wise I can't tell to much but then again I havn't taken it out agressivly yet.
