I have the Pit Bull stands that are specified for the Ulysses models. I put it on the rear stand first, carefully positioning the rearmost rollers behind the swingarm so it wont roll off. When I raise the bike on the front stand, it slips off the rear, causing the bike to slide backwards a little so the stand is wedged between the swingarm and motor. This makes it unstable, and a real pain to get the rear stand out. This can't be right. What am I doing wrong? | ||

 You should have one pad right behind the swingarm, one like right at the bottom corner of the swingarm, and one more thats just forward of the axle. | ||

I think I'm putting the stand too far forward to begin with. Thanks Froggy. | ||

Uly - like Froggy sez. It's kinda hard to be too far forward, but easy to be too far back. Two pads should be under the swingarm. Be sure axle is about an inch to the rear of the stand pivot. Like this?  | ||

I was setting it up like Stirz's picture and it kept sliding off. Two pics and two different positions. What to do???  | ||

Stirz, have you tried to put the bike on a front stand like that? | ||

Uly - yes I have (pit bull front stand). The bike does tend to want to walk forward when you begin to lift the front - kinda freaky when it does that. The way I deal with it is to push the wheels of the front stand back with my foot while I push down on the lever. | ||

O.K. Froggys pics must be of an 1125. My swingarm is rounded on the back so it won't sit on the stand the same way. If I try to set it like Froggys pic, it will just roll right off. I think I figured out why mine was rolling off like that. The rear stand needs to roll forward on it's wheels when you lift the front. I was doing it in the grass which wasn't letting the wheels roll with the bike when I lifted it. | ||

I can't figure out why you are using that style of Pit Bull stand instead of the one that uses the spool ends you have on it. | ||

Can't take the wheel off if it's on the axle spools. Kinda defeats the purpose for my use. Unfortunately, the '08 isn't really set up well for swingarm spools IMO, so I don't use them. But that's just me. | ||

Ahh, another special innovation special to the Buell. So the spools you have on there are sliders and ugly covers, yes? on another note, if I'm ever to have another Buell, it would be a Uly. But you guys won't let go of them! | ||

Key thing to do when putting the front up, is to push backwards on the handle along with pushing down to make the wheels on the front stand roll backwards. This will keep the bike from pulling forward and off the stand. | ||

The wheels must be able to roll as well as the part that rotates (with the bladed weight) being able to rotate. It sounds crazy but I had to help a guy figure out how to put his Busa up on his stands. Apparently if there is a burr or any other hinderence in the mating the weight of the bike can bind it enough so that it can't rotate. Light oil or WD works and doesn't catch dirt like grease will. | ||
