Jerry and I would like to THANK YOU for the awesome tickets to the flat track races. Great seats! And the outcome of the Indy Mile was so cool! There were like 13 Harleys and 4 other brands in the main event so what were the odds a Harley would not come out with the #1 podium? But once again.....Karma came through and Kawasaki got that spot! Since Jerrys other bike is a Concours...Yeah!

Would that have been a vertical twin out of California?

Jerry says yes it was! Jay Springsteen and Bill Werner (formerly Harley) worked setting up and designing this bike. Werner got to ride a victory lap. It was awesome! Brian Smith was the rider.

We're glad you guys enjoyed the races. There was no way Terri and I could go to Indy this year, and we bought the tickets last February when they first became available. We didn't want the tickets to go unused, and when you said you guys were going to the MotoGP, it looked like you were the people to give then to.
Terri and I love Flat Track racing, and we especially love a good Mile. We're happy you found the races exciting.
Someday, you should make the run over to Springfield, IL and see the Mile there. If I could only see one race for the rest of my life, it would be the Springfield Mile.

Crusty, I use to live in Peoria, Illinois and always went to the Peoria TT races every year. But when they stopped running the big twins, I lost interest. I've never been to the Springfield mile before but I've always heard that they are some of the best flat track racing around. I'm going to have to get my butt down there sometime to finally see them.

Are you still riding your Buell or have you went completely to the Guzzi?

I still ride the XT, but I'm getting more addicted to the Guzzi as time goes by. It's funny; even though the Buell makes more horsepower and torque, and it has superior suspension and handles much better, the Guzzi is the bike that calls to me when I walk out to the garage. There's no tangible reason for it, but it's really growing on me.

"Karma came through and Kawasaki got that spot! "

Watching Road Racing On SPEED channel for the last couple of months. Every time they have shown a Buell 1125 they either did not qualify for the race, did not finish do to mechanical failure, or crashed out. The only time SPEED showed a Buell 1125 finishing a race it finished DEAD LAST! ........Karma?

Patches; what are you talking about? Buells have qualified for every road race National that they've entered this year, and have finished well; especially considering the bikes and teams they're up against.
Speed doesn't show any Flat Track races, and even if they did, there aren't any Buells running in the series. Carol was referring to the fact that Brian Smith on a Kawasaki beat Chris Carr on a Harley in the Main. The karma part was that a Harley got beaten by an underdog.

JD Beach was impressive rider!
Seemed younger riders keep left foot on peg more than classic riders, like Chris Carr (at least coming through 2 & 4).

Ya got that right Crusty. Who would have thought that a kawasaki would win with 13 Harleys on the track?
We have friend in northern New York that want us to visit. It would be a joy scoot by and see you and your beauties too. It will def be next year though. Jerry is still job hunting now.
