all I can say is WOW strangely enough it was the loaner bike I was given the keys to while my tires were changed. "the keys are in the bike come back in about 2 hours" well you don't have to twist my arm or tell me twice! after playing with it for a bit I can confidently say: that bike a a monster! very smooth, much less buzz than the inlines I have been on recently and a fantastic bark when you get on it. good torque (not buell torque but still good) and arm straightening pull at higher rpm all the way to stupid fast where I chickened out and backed off. I have been whispered to by the dark side and I am enticed; after all, they have candy  ok flame away | ||

no idea... abandon runways and track days will get you close but with all that this bike is packing (and as you say anything else in its class) the bike is far more capable than the pilot in my case. now as you would expect this bike was not a ergo friendly commuter bike, tail up grips down. longer than I am used to reach to the bars (even on non buell rides). It did not like going slow, temps would rise quickly and the fans would click on bating me in warm air off the radiator. turns under 30mph felt awkward and restless. but put in on the highway and the bike seemed to have a desire to jump right out of my hands. freeway ramps suddenly felt as though they could not be long enough, and cloverleafs were the things dreams were made of. as if direction by intuition the RSV flicked over to the right as I followed the cloverleaf on ramp, even at the highway speed limit the bike felt as though it needed even even more throttle to get settled, and I must say the harmony of the exhaust note was all the convincing I needed. I slowly cracked the throttle and the bike settled into a nice clean easy lean, the tachometer only indicated 6,000 RPM but the bike pulled ferociously all the way to about 8,000RPM where it wildly accelerated forward with the grace of a gazelle. the shape of the tank and overall ergos were suddenly a much appreciated feature when I reached for the brakes (in order to reattain the legal speed limit) and felt the sudden deceleration that rivals its acceleration. the form of the tank was perfect for locking my knees in as the speed o' dropped at an alarming rate. | ||

Come to Michigan I'll take you there :-) Local yamaha aprilia guzzi vespa dealer. Apparently the bike is a full on demo bike (az plate for some reason, no idea here in mi) but it even sees track days (the rubber shows it for sure). It had 6,500 miles on it before I rode the heck out of it. | ||

In the trade it's called the 'puppy dog close'. If I could afford it I probably would have and would have worked... Flawlessly But they didn't even ask how I liked it, just "here is your bike it's all set and ready to go" thanks and come again. If I get loaners like that every time I get tires, I know I'll be back. | ||

I'd be going in to change one tire at a time if my local dealer loaned that out... "Hey sir, you need both a front and a rear tire." "Nope. I'll come back next week to get the rear replaced..."  | ||

It's at the dealers right now and much worse than I thought. But I will leave it at that or risk being labeled a whiner. That Aprilia is a beautiful bike. yes I did.I believe it was the rods? Did you know 1125's, although they didn't have engine failures, ran like shit because the ecm software sucked? It's funny. When people post here about other bikes, certain people have to try to find an issue with it or tell them how expensive upkeep is. BUT when some one posts about issues they are having with their Buell, people here tell them to deal with it, call them whiners, etc, etc. Just seems hypocritical. | ||

Nope. Noticed it the first time I got on this site in 2003. Sometimes passion is blind. I love all different makes and models of bikes and have no problem voicing my opinions when they don't operate as designed. | ||

I love the buell brand and the creations of Erik Buell, however I like several other brands of bikes as well mostly the European brands. I realize that there is no perfect brand of any vehicle out there. If there is more than one vehicle made by each brand then it is a good bet that one or more of those mutipule vehicles is probably going to have some sort of issue with it down the road. Also some times a batch of a certian vehicle that may all have the same issue. The good thing is, because there is people to complain to and these brands wanting to be sucessful they will more then likley make it right. My point is despite some issues the 1125 or this bike that some people have had does not make them crappy bikes as a whole just means there was an issue with some. | ||

Man, the RSV4 is a thing of beauty. I'd love to have one, but no way could I afford the note + insurance right now. Maybe in a few years I can find a decent used one. | ||

it seems as though the part was faulty, perhaps an improper alloy or a hiccup in manufacturing that was overlooked. 335 US models were recalled and given new engines.
it sure made my short list, and if I save for about 2 years I could probably afford a nice used trade in

yes and no, maybe you should pack your bags. they take good care of the riders from the local forum they sponsor. but I think its a common practice for them.
there seem to be more multi-enthusiasts in the younger generations, I actually had this discussion not long ago with another biker. He told me that he could remember when badmouthing another riders brand was likely to start a fist fight. brand loyalty was strong, a Honda guy would ride only a Honda for the rest of his/her life, trading one Honda for another as years go on. I am not so loyal, yes I love buell and would gladly buy another but there are many other bikes that I would be glad to own, just as there are some brands that just don't appeal to me as much. in a year or two when Sarah is ready for an upgrade from her '79 kawi I may be fortunate enough to have the finances for a nice bike that is on my short list of desirables. this list ranges several brands but for the most part only one class of bike. if I cant get one of those I have a not so short list too and its much more reasonable as far a pricing and is somehow more broad with brand selection (the short list is very expansive to begin with). I have no brand loyalty. I want the best solution to my transportation problems. A Buell provided it last time. If I was buying tomorrow it's a Triumph Tiger for my price range. | ||
