Ive been in sales a long time some 20 + years. Ive always made an effort to only represent myself and product with honesty.

That said, one of my favorite lines when someone says something really stupid to me that has no basis in fact is simply,

"Based on what"? then let them answer, its usually humorus, because they quickly relize they are talking out their ass.

No one really knocks my bike, its just that all my son's 16 year old friends ask me to wheelie and do stunts and stuff, all they know about are squids on Jap bikes.

That is the fun part... when you are riding and DO pass a Bueller and then chase them down just to say "Hi. Nice bike!"

haha i love doing that!

so college just started for me this past week (im a freshman so its all new) but theres a bike parking section, and my best friend kyle is also going to the same school, we were talking about how odds are it'll b full of I4's and then the two buells we have (my 9R and his X1)....well i get there and end up parking next to a black cyclone, go to my class, then come out and in the bike parking lot there is my 9R, kyles x1, a red cyclone, a blue cyclone, and a black 12s!!!!.....and a whole lot of I4 bikes also, but i was very suprised at the 5 buells that were there!

so far i havent been given any crap from people at school for riding a buell, in fact i've had multiple people tell me nice bike and such as i pull up

It's always fun to show up for a ride and the Buells out number the non-Buells.

Happened to Hargis, Barker and me a few weeks ago.

anytime someone give me crap about my Buell, I ask them to check my give-a-shit gauge and see if it registers!

They quickly get the message.

Buell, the best damn motorcycle ever made in America!

I may not have to worry about bad/good comments anymore since I'm joining the USAF. In fact, my bike just might pop up on here for sale in the near future but I'll probably end up keeping it cause frankly I never loved a bike this much.

Not to change channels, but is the Air Force basic training hard? I've heard it's the easiest. Also, what are the chances of me signing up to be an aerial gunner on a C130 Spectre/Spooky? I scored rather high on my ASVAB so should I not have a problem doing so?

Just the thought of operating under the USAF Special Ops Command, meaning the C130s only fly during special operations, and the thought of raining death down on the enemy from above, would be awesome as all hell.

Yep I agree... my retired boss said it the best, "you must be talking out of your ass because your brains and lips know better!" courtesy of James Lauer, U of MN.

The last whiner IL4 rider to give me crap about my Uly will no longer ride with me, nor me with him, nothing personal, different strokes.

I rode with him with a couple of his crotch rocket friends. All three of them got speeding tickets flying down a straight stretch, that is where I typically slow down. It was five hours of zip here, zip there, in total less than fifty miles of actual riding.

Then they rode with me. I took them to a really cool twisted road about 130 miles out(so that they would have a minimum of 260 miles that day). They could not come close to keeping up on the twisties and they would not all fuel up at the same time so that we would have to stop at no more than fifty miles. All were in pain and complaining about riding so much. I left a couple of weeks later for Homecoming where I did about 1800 miles in four days.

Oddly, when I invited them to go with me, none wanted to, they did not like to ride that far, that long , or that much. To that I responded that it was too bad they did not have a Buell.....then they might want to ride more.

Bunch of cry babies!

changing channels for you..... looks like you are about to start a new adventure in your life. Don't worry what is going to be hard and don't think about what might be scary. GO FOR IT and look at it as an exciting adventure! If you go in with the Never fear attitude then you will Kick A**

I'v had all kinds, Buells, Ducatis, Hondas,Suzuks, Kawai's, all of them. I couldnt care less what some toad thinks of my bike. Just like internet trolls, they suck mud. I finally gave up riding a month ago and got myself a boat. One thing about a boat, its on the water...uh duh, no..... what I'm getting at is....what else is on the water? mostly-naked babes...... It's more productive for a little fun....ya think.....!

Good luck at Basic. AF Basic is what you make of it...mostly head games and yelling. Once you figure out they are teaching you to be part of the group and to conform to the group's norms it is pretty easy and you will be able to sit back and watch the fun as others thrash around trying to beat the system.

AG looks like a lot of fun for a single guy. Spec Ops don't usually go out for long deployments like the Cops and Transportation guys, but you go out and back a lot more often. Don't turn down choppers if they offer that instead. Shooting a 4000 round a minute mini-gun from a chopper is a blast! Either way the Big Blue Father will send you where he needs you (with your input if possible).

Keep the bike. Nothing like coming home from downrange and going for a nice long ride to cleanse the soul.

Heaven, being a gunner on an AC-130 is a special duty assignment. Meaning, you must have an AFSC (Air Force Specialty Code) prior to applying. I used to be (as in retired now) a 2w1x0 which was one of the specialties with which you could apply for gunner. You will spend a ton of time cleaning and fixing guns, and a lot less time firing them. Basic is not tough, but you must have your mind in the right place. Good luck and thanks for your future service.

Reminds me of a few years back, I met up with some Jap4 guys on my Uly at 8am and went riding. 10am comes along and they are all done for the day and am heading home. I was like WTF, we barley did 50 miles of riding. I told them I was going to go get lunch in Lake George, which was about 3 hours away. So I did, then took some photos on top of the mountain, worked my way home, hit some dirt roads, got stuck crossing a river, then rode to one of the guys house. He couldn't believe everything I did that day. I told him "next time don't pussy out at 10am."

Wana talk about being an outcast, I have talked to maybe 3 people total here that have buell's and in the three years I have been on Oahu I have maybe only seen a dozen on the roads.

Even the people at Cycle City Harley were dumb about Buell, I had asked the one salesman about specs on the 1125R when it first came out and he didnt know anything about it!

I love riding my Buell, and last I checked the people that give funny looks or criticize a Buell are not paying for my bike.

I would often get asked why i ride a Buell, and I would rattle off a list of reasons why I love my bike, and then turn the question around and ask them why they ride their GSXR, Honda, Kawasaki, ect... and they just stand their with dumb looks on their faces and say, "cause its fast." and then I just laugh!
