It kills me to see the low prices people are asking for their Buells in the FS section. Some darned good bikes, going for a song - which is sad, because there's no way you can get this much fun on a bike for what they will get for the Buell. Beautiful, low mile XB's with good mod's going for $4000-5000? It sucks for the sellers. It's also great if you are in the market as a buyer, but I have the feeling that the prices are low because there are, in reality, so few people willing/able to part with thousands of dollars for a motorcycle right now. Also sad to see.

These times are hard on everyone, and I certainly feel empathy for anyone truly needing to sell off their bike. It just sucks to see it, is all.

Well said. I have been contemplating the idea that if my step-daughter's father doesn't maintain the payments on her car I may have to sell my bike in order to purchase her a new vehicle. I'm hopeful that won't be the case, but it's a possibility.

I further toy with the idea of letting her drive my car and me driving my Buell to and from work exclusively. That's a fine idea until those days of deluge rain or 20 degree cold.

I guess we'll see and hope for the best.

This is a great time to have disposable income. Toys of all nature, be they RV's, airplanes, boats, motorcycles, etc. are going ridiculously cheap. The trouble is most people when they see something going for pennies on the dollar are only in a position to say "Dang, that's cheap!"

It's like I tell my kids/grandkids "I remember when gas was just 25¢ a gallon. I can remember too when I didn't have 25¢."

Yeah Strokizator it's all relative. Stuff was cheap, cheap back in the day but people made what .75 - $1.00 an hour and all money seems to be tainted; taint mine and it taint yours. Also like you said it's across all lines. I'm picking up an '06 Vulcan 2000 this week for $4300. It needs a couple little things but they're minor.

With used Buells, it seems like it's always been a buyers market to some degree. If a person keeps his nose to the market, it's becoming more so all the time. There has never been a better time to pick up a really great used Buell. It's a damned shame that all the Buells are used Buells, or soon will be.

I have been trying to sell a John Deere 210 lawn tractor with a 46" deck, runs great, 25 years old, but gosh, people have been calling me and asking if I would take half price without even coming out and looking at it, I lowered the price and they are still halfing it, nobody is buying now.

I considered selling mine a few weeks ago, and all it needs are a set of higher bars. Theres very few bikes that are so fun. I rode a KTM Super Duke a few days ago (thanks Boney), and that bike is some serious fun. It is certainly on the top of my short list, but the Buell will never go anywhere but my garage. Lawn mower simplicity, suhweeet styling, and fuuuun power. I'll save up for the KTM. In the meantime, I think I'll build a sumo!

I have a friend who recently shelled out $7,500 for an '05 or '06 sportster, that had already been down.

Wanted to just about scream. "Hey, man I got bad credit, and needed a bike...." Blew me away, he just couldn't do any shopping, had to have it now.

My Cusin had his '05 sporty for sell for $5,000 perfect condition 6,800 miles. Couldn't sell it. Traded it for a dump trailer and a $1,000.

Iride, You are a better man than me. It's cool your willing to even think about it. I would suggest a bus, friend, carpool, or a $500 - $1000 POS that would run.

It's sad to see BWB'ers selling their bikes, so that they can make ends meet. I am lucky in a way, I'm single, have no kids. I can go with out a lot, harder to do when you have people depending on you.
