More then once I have receive some lenience.

One time a few years ago, I was on my way to work, and for some reason, that I can't remember, I took a different route than usual. The different route has a road that is five lanes wide, the center is a turning lane. I approach the crest of a hill shortly after getting on this road, and there are three or four cars in the right lane. I have to turn left up the road another two or three mile anyways, and I hate being stuck behind a group of cars, or even one, so I changed lanes and powered on by the pack of cars. The sound of my XB9 was sweet in the morning air. Now on the down hill side of the hill with the sweet sound in my ears, the engine asked for more. This all happened in a matter of 30 seconds or so. As soon as I passed the last car it was clear sailing down the hill to my turn, but what's that at the entrance to the neighborhood on the right, half way down the hill, but a county motor cop staring right at me over the radar gun pointed at me. As soon as I see him, I chop the throttle, and get into the right hand lane. A purposeful look over my right shoulder to see if he's coming, and sure enough, he is. At the next right, I pull over after signaling my turn by hand and with the bikes signal. I turn around, and he's showing me the display of the radar gun, 64, and the limit is 45. I get off the bike, motion and ask if I can take my helmet off, then my gloves, then my ear plugs. He then asked for my license, again in similar fashion I motion where my wallet is, and tell him it's in my pocket. He acknowledges, I get out my license and hand it to him. I just know I'm getting a ticket. After calling in my info, he asked why I was in such a hurry, and I gave him the lame excuse that I was running late on my way to work. Then he asks me where I bought the bike, and if I knew anyone from the local dealership, note, the county motor cops ride HD's ______ (whatever they are). I told him I know a few people up there. Then he says, most sportbike riders try and run from him, but he catches them. I told him I was too old for that sort of thing. Still thinking I'm getting a ticket, he says, I'm giving you a warning, but the next time this happens your getting a ticket. I'm not sure how many time I thanked him before he left, but if I were him, I would have told me to shut-up or going to give you that ticket. Needless to say, I don't take that route to work anymore. Thanks again Officer King. And I wasn't even late to work.

On the way to meet for a Sunday morning ride, I was running through a favorite back road and as I come around the last corner there was a State Trooper citing someone in the 7-11 parking lot. after meeting up we catch the red light at the same intersection and I noticed the Trooper make a left past us. I thought nothing of it and was thinking he's getting back on the interstate. But what he did was shoot a u turn and fall in behind us at the light. When the light went green I blasted through the short section of curves on that road, as I looked back to check on Jimmy I see the trooper coming around the corner lights ablaze. I pulled over immediately and waited for him to come up. He asked me why I ran from him. I told him I was too old for that sh_t and that as soon as I saw him I pulled over. Doing better that 50 in a 25 and let off with a warning. I was on the S1W wearing my Blue and Black Vanson Jacket, so I'm sure he remembered the first time he saw me.

I was doing around 90 on the highway after having my 1125's computer reflashed. I passed a couple of tractor trailers carrying dirt/gravel/crap. Looking up ahead theres a blue tahoe in the median. I know Im busted so I pull over into the right lane and sure enough as soon as the tahoe gets behind me and flicks the lights I pull over, take my helmet off and set it on the ground. A very nice looking female state trooper gets out and asks me why I was going so fast. I told her I was getting hit with gravel from two dump trucks so I wanted to get away. Suddenly the two truck go rumbling past. She looks at them and says "Youre lucky you got the only trooper who knows what its like to ride, try to keep it under the limit and ride safe."

True story.

Last friday after work i came to slowing traffic on my Duc996. I see the car immediately in front of me is an unmarked.
The road briefly goes two lanes and he pulls to the right hand lane.So i oblige and pass.BAD MOVE.

THe traffic light turns green,i proceed and SEE the sign "speed limit 30".All of the traffic in front of me is departing above the limit.I'm doing 35...then 40 and see him RIGHT BEHIND me!! I brake to 35 and he LIT ME UP!!

Gets out of his car yelling and waving his arms "WHAT THE hELL ARE YOU DOING" he says.

Frightened,i put my hands up and yell "DON'T SHOOT ME"!!! He grows MORE angry now. Tells me i'm 15mph UNDER the limit and he also states he almost rear ended me!

I counter by saying he was following me at an unsafe distance and has endangered my safety.I also state i was watching him and carefully noticed the "speed limit 30". He says it's 45mph but i stand firm i saw 30.

He asks me if i want to go to the station and file a complaint."I do not".

A minute later he approaches me and extends his hand and apologized. I accepted and continued.

He likely thought i was a youngster or something.I'm 45.Watch out for Cumberland,RI Police

A couple weeks ago I was playing around on a nice road near my home I (used to)frequent. Went to make a pass on a long straight, as soon as I got past the truck I caught a glimpse him hiding in a driveway behind some bushes up ahead. Tried to slow down before he clocked me, but it was too late. First thing he said was "Thanks for stopping". He said he had me at 87 in a 45. He said it could be considered reckless driving, but he knocked it down to 54, so I wouldn't even have to go to court.
Then before he leaves he starts complimenting the bike, and says "It must really rip, huh?"
A good reminder to keep bail cash handy. If I didn't see him that early, or a different cop and it could be a very different story.
