O.K. all you political pundits, what do you think about this?
I'll go on record as supporting it.

All we need to do is adopt Mexico's immigration law. And then enforce it.

And test all school children for TB. Then quarantine the children in your child's public school classroom who test positive.

I'm a immigrant, waited in my country for 6 years for my green card, my wife did the same. Today, 11 years later, I'm proud to be an american.
I support AZ law and would support this one too.
At least I learn English

Being over 75% american indian the rest of you can go home. To put it in perspective many of my family walked the Trail of Tears. I tend not to get too upset over minor issues, I ll get up set over the illegals ( pick your group ) etc When America treats American Indians like Humans

Graham is a retard.

I would support a clarification of the SCOTUS' errant ruling in the Wong Kim Ark case creating "anchor babies".

At this point, an amendment is the only thing that is going to fix that errant ruling.

Now for Graham, he knows that he isn't a real conservative and is puling this stunt, an Amendment he knows won't get passed, in order to try to up his conservative voter stock. It's a rope a dope from a guy who should be thrown out on his ass.

maybe I'm missing the point here, the discussion isn't in MY OPINION who is more "American" is it the Native American descendants? The descendants of the Englishman from the 1500's or the African-Americans, or even Spanish descendants that came many years ago...

I got my Green Card because my dad's job transfered him to Miami and got his due his work, after leaving in the US for many years, he got his citizenship and asked myself and my sister if we wanted the visa as well, I got mine, she declined ans stayed in Brazil. We NEVER stayed in the US illegal, we NEVER worked in the US illegally, and while I was waiting for my visa, I went to school and study English to be able to come and start a new and better life.
I cannot be against immigration, but I'm against some people that come to this country illegally and stay, I'm against the people that come here and refuse to learn English, I'm against the millions of lazy people that come to this country and try to live at the government cost.
I support the AZ law, it does not matter when you got here or where you came from, what really matters is HOW you got here.

They need the illegal aliens, because Americans are to fat, lazy and or proud to do the jobs that the companys offer to that labor segment.
And until the fat lazy illeducated get upset about it, expect nothing to change schematically.

On the Healthcare front, look for them to 'grant' citizen ship amnesty so that they can 'fund' this new tax behemouth of HR3200. Watch the union card be the first picket on the path to citizenship.

I don't believe that and evidence suggests otherwise. Illegals are willing to work for less pay and under the table. That is why they get the jobs.

I recall after a raid on a meat processing plant and resulting capture of a gaggle of illegals, the next day the place was backed up with hundreds of Americans seeking the vacated jobs.

It's also insulting to all the good legal hard working Americans who do indeed do the hard jobs.

It's a myth propagated by open border types. Don't buy into it.

Big labor today is nothing but a mob with their hooks into the Dem political party, nothing more. The workers who cannot see that are part of the problem.

It completely boggles my mind why all these people think it is completely acceptable for ILLEGAL immigrants to come ILLEGALLY to America and workk ILLEGALLY. What the hell am I missing here?
If these people support ILLEGALs…do they also support rapists? Murderers? Where does the line get drawn? Lets grant amnesty to the baby rapist. Its only fair.

We have record high unemployment rates. I don't know how ANYONE can claim that these under-the-table working illegals are not STEALING American jobs.

+1

Illegals are willing to work for less pay and under the table.

The local Fox affiliate here in Atlanta did a story a few nights ago about the immigrants who labor in the fields. They picked out a husband and wife who have worked in the orchards for over 25 years.

They were packing table grapes into boxes for shipment. Each box they filled, they got $0.30 to split between them. They have to trim away all the shriveled or otherwise undesirable fruit before putting it in the box. They were going pretty fast, a lot faster than I probably could.

Between the two of them, they were clearing about $600 per week. Cash money.

They can keep that job, I don't want it.

I can see some Americans wanting the jobs at the Tyson meat factory... but out here in the fields I don't think it's a reality. Still, these people should have some sort of migrant worker's documentation. FFS, if for no other reason than to screen them of virulent diseases!!!!

American society today has created a whole class of people that don't want to work...they want a "position"and expect to get paid a lot of money for doing next to nothing...the industry I am in has a serious manpower shortage....because it requires people with brains AND the desire to work.

I was raised in the fields. I picked citrus and apples and grapes and plums and peaches and all manner of fruit and vegetables. My father killed himself in the groves keeping the family fed. Picking oranges for .20 a box...from trees with 2 inch thorns...

Anybody that works in the fields deserves respect. It is ass breaking work for damn little in return.

The illegals need to go, but that would rob the business of the cheap labor they need to stay competitive in the WORLD MARKET...

My hat is off to anybody that comes here legally, and works hard to be an AMERICAN. My great great grandfather came here as an indentured servant and worked 20 years to be a free man...(an Irish protestant just no there is no confusion)

I got my first motorcycle by picking oranges and running irrigation pipe...my scout troup financed a trip to Philmont by picking citrus on the weekends.

I keep dad's old pick-bag as a reminder of how it was...

I'd need to know more about what would replace the 14th Amendment's Citizenship Clause before I could support repealing it. It's hard for me to conceive of babies being criminals from the moment of their birth. Would newborns born to illegals get some form of dispensation with automatic visas/green cards, or would they be deported immediately as illegals?

Also, if a birth certificate issued by a U.S. state no longer becomes proof of citizenship, be prepared for implementation of a national ID card to fill the documentary void. The federal gov't will take charge of your personal info to enable you to prove who you are.

The solution is simple: parents not in the country legally? Then baby's birth certificate simply declares that fact and entire family is escorted back to their home nation.

But like Kowski, I'd hafta see the legal language. It's a tough issue. Bottom line is that if our borders were secure, we'd not have the secondary problem at issue here.

Secure the borders!

Point taken. I'd rather secure the borders (and allow limited, temporary, legal work migration) than amend the Constitution.

Im with Ft on this one. Kill NAFTA, and enforce the borders. American Economy would recover over night.
