Carwin was very impressive in the first round, gave Lesner a beating, but Lesner submitted Carwin in the 2nd.

Lesner was pretty much baiting Carwin halfway through the 1st round IMHO, when he realized Carwin was getting gassed. Carwin did beat on him like crazy the first round, but strongly underestimated the chin and conditioning of Lesner. Carwin knew it at the end of the first round. Didn't you see the look on his face? Lol. He bet the house on putting it out in the first round and lost.

Lesner took Carwin down about a min into the second, and had a full mount on top, but had his arms in position for a choke and quickly jumped off the mount sideways to tighten the chokehold. Carwin had some breathing room for a few seconds, but then Lesner tightened up and Carwin immediately tapped out after that.

If any GOOD ref wouldve been inthere they would've called it during the first round.
Its bogus, another situation where UFC makes a bad call.

Hate to see Brock didnt get his ass busted last night.

Hybrid- Have you watched any other championship fights? The refs don't step in quick at all. He was protecting himself and there were leg kicks and a few punches in there. If he had dropped his arms then the ref would have called it. Carwin landed 1 good elbow while he was raining down on Brock. Lots of shots to Brocks arms which doesn't do much especially as Carwin got gassed. It was a great fight and the next one between them will be even better. Rules state ref makes the call when the submissive stops defending/protecting himself which Brock was. Lame excuse as to why Brock won.

He took a beating that put others lights out and managed to push Carwin further than ever before. Plus Brock is better at the ground game now. Sounds like a champion to me. I hope after Brock takes out Cain we see these 2 again. Both will be in better shape and what a great show that could be.

Besides, would YOU really wanna piss off a 265 lb heavyweight by rendering him knocked out when he was defending himself? Doesn't sound very smart to me. Lesner's just a BEAST. Blake mentioned on my FB that Brock could be a San Francisco flower cutter and still be a beast. I think that sums it up well.

I agree. I've seen fights like that get stoped. Lesner was doing nothing but taking a beating.

Its bogus, another situation where UFC makes a bad call.

I disagree with this. If it was any other fight then yeah. With it being those two power houses, they were going to let them fight to damn near death.

Brock WAS Intelligently defending himself. A BAD ref would have called the fight. Lesner was not hurt at all on the ground. Now, he did get rocked standing up and tucked and ran, but he hung in there and won fairly the 2nd.

Carwin was trying his best to take Brock out in the first - as he promised. Against that the best stratagy for a guy who can take take it is to let it wash over, guarding and wait for an opening. By the second round Carwin ran out of gas, and Brock returned the favor. Brock is very much in his element, and as long as he stays on top of his game, he'll be champion for a long while - like it or not.

I don't think Lesner intelligently does anything, but your probably right. All I saw were highlights on Sportscenter. You know how shows edit things to look worse than they are.
