Got my issue of Motorcyclist today and it has a nice article about the Highland Viking. I am glad to see a new American made motorcycle coming to market. Like the early Buells, it is rough around the edges, but it looks really promising.

Here is a link to the Highland website. Interesting company.

The magazine article does not have a price, just a rather large spread of between $10,000 and $20,000.

Wow... these bikes are like broccoli or brussel's sprouts...

I just don't see anything I like. The dirt bikes look ok, but I have trouble believing anybody would buy them when there are so many inexpensive and already race-proven offerings on the market.

The street bikes, well, to me... they just aren't appealing...

To each his own I suppose...

I like that there are beginning to be more and more american motorcycle companies but I think that (at least the 2 I know of) have one downfall that is keeping them from having competitive pricing with the jap alternatives. This is the fact that they keep wanting to only use high end suspension and brake setups. They could shave several thousands off of there prices if they would go with showa and nissin instead of going with ohlins and brembro. I could see having maybe a option to go with the high end stuff but not having it on all of your bikes.

+1 to Firebolt020283

how many people actually need something as high performance as ohlins or brembo, most people just get on and ride, and they should make it an option if you want to race or ride competitively.

I've seen this before and they custom make a motorcycle for you and ship in 7 days after receiving the order. Very interesting concept, I hope they do well with it. Made in the U.S.A.
