Dissault (makers of solidworks) just launched draftsight 2d cad (still in beta) I only like 3d but this is very nice for free. It can read and export native autocad from r2010 all the way back to r12. They also have online learning resources and user community. http://www.3ds.com/products/draftsight/#vid1
