I have always liked that movie but the very first scene with the huge guy on a little bike is a bit scary.

Delta-Ive seen a few shows on HD Theater(i think) on the Baja. One followed the sons of a casino owner, red trucks, i forget the name. Gonna have to look for the one you posted but, I dont think it will ever be in theaters as the trailer says.

I found that Dust to Glory at the library, not the local library; it's a half hour ride away. Still looks worth it!

its VERY worth it
it follows the honda A and B teams as well as Mouse McCoy who ran solo on a motorcycle (I have so much respect for this man) they also touch on the radio relay operator "weatherman" Robby Gordon and his team Mario Andriette (even driving a truck like a mad man despite the fact that he is not a participant) JN Robers (legend) a woman's buggy team (they race hard and play with the big boys just fine) and a bunch of other stuff baja related that isn't the race itself.
narration is spectacular by Dana Brown and no part feels like it steals from the film.

I ordered it last summer online for only 10bucks after only catching small bits on late sunday cable.

and I think it was in "select" theaters and Imax like 199 lives (I was so bummed I missed that showing and have yet to see or buy it)

great now I have to watch it again : D

Yes worth buying it! I have seen it several times very cool movie! As Delta says, any body that can ride that distance at race speed as Mouse does deserves some respect.
I also have respect for the VW class running pretty much bone stock VW bugs.Amazingly with no suspension and a load for an engine, but they still manage to finish!
I cant remember the name of that class. Its been over a year since I watched it time to see it again!

Class11

unmodified beetle pre-1982
no engine of suspension modification is allowed.
its cool the amount of reverence the other racers have for the class 11 guys.
teams with mullti million dollar cars talk about the stock bugs with a look of awe on their face.

ok I am watching it now and one of my favorite line of the movie came up so I figured I would share:
"there are things that are impossible to prepare for, like your engine falling off, sitting there, mocking you."
picture a modified bug setting on the side of the dirt "road" with its engine about 5 feet back and the driver just standing there helpless.

to watch or buy?

the only thing I can find for online viewing are the not authorized uploads me no like those

but there are some nice clips on youtube, somebody broke the movie into 2 parts just shy of 10 min ea for a 100 min film. I haven't watched his break down tho.

Google shopping gave me 40 sellers starting at about 8 bucks shipped.

Delta, thanks for letting us know about this great documentary.
I just got done watching it at amazon dot com, look for VOD= Video On Demand.
http://www.amazon.com/Dust-to-Glory/dp/B001LQXWO8% 3FSubscriptionId%3D0SMVYTEJQZQ0MFNMXQ02%26tag%3Dcl ickermedia-20%26linkCode%3Dxm2%26camp%3D2025%26cre ative%3D165953%26creativeASIN%3DB001LQXWO8
It's great, you can stream it to your PC for $3, or buy it and download it to your PC, or just buy the movie and have it shipped to you.
I saw the part where the motor was sitting on the ground behind the sand rail, that was classic!
Have to mention, Mouse's big fall, with something like 60 miles left to go, after 16 hours, he was beat to death. But a fellow motorcycle rider, helped him up, and guided him through the night with his headlight, allowing him to finish, i think, 6th overall.
Great stuff!

Any of you guys can't access HULU because you're not in US or whatever.
Download Hotspotshield (free) & then you can go on Hulu as it no longer shows your IP as being abroad.
Hope this helps.

BTW, thanks Glitch, I hadn't seen "On any Sunday" for many years, watched it last night & it bought back so many memories & smiles.

that's super cool! I had no idea that amazon had that.

glad you liked it : )

after watching some of "On any Sunday" again I need to go and buy it too.
I hadn't watched it in some time.
I gotta say that him walking to the van with his bike in the back then tearing up the track is great at getting me sucked into the film.

On any Sunday was a big part of what made Dust to Glory possible and a big part of the motivation behind it.
