338 days without a press conference! So much for being and open and transparent administration.

Hard to blame him though. Last press conference was when he made the racist comment about a cop acted stupidly investigating a home break in. He really doesn't do well without his teleprompter.

I wonder if he will answer any questions about Sestak?

The cop was a jackass. If i got arrested for breaking into my own home i would be pissed.

Seriously? All the guy had to do was show the cop some ID that showed he lived there. He refused to do that! The cop was simply doing his job, any less would be negligence.

This FOX News blog post is somewhat more explanatory & balanced, IMHO. But I do get the point, Sifo. Reporters ask the questions their readers want answered.

Obama is a thin skinned bully who is afraid to take a stand if there is a chance that his position will backfire on him.

The current oil spill is a case in point. The President had already been granted the power and authority to take charge of the spill on day one. The best he could do was remain silent for nine days and then he came out swinging about "keeping the boots to the throat" of BP. What kind of leader talks like that? The truth is that Obama is afraid to act because he might be accused of this being Obama's Katrina.

Why would he take a chance of giving a press conference which would air his views publicly?

I hope this Sestak probable crime goes up the chain to ensnarl Obama just like what happened to Nixon.

Have you been asleep as this has already been argued to death? How was the cop to know that Professor Plum wasn't a home invader rather than the owner without the presentation of ID?

Do you work for the Obama Crime Syndicate in Chicago? Sometimes it seems so.

Wow. A Beck fan, huh? Just regurgitate the same bullshit talking points.
Aren't you guys the same ones that want LESS government involvement? Now you want the government to take over the oil spill caused by a deregulated industry (wonder who did that?)
Make up your frickin' minds. Stop flip flopping!!

Although I love Glenn Beck, I haven't listened to him for a while so I am unaware of his so-called "talking points". You are quite excitable and enjoy jumping to conclusions.

No one here has ever argued for no government involvement. The last time I looked, the government had a thing called a Navy and Coast Guard which could be deployed to minimize the damage. This is a huge technological problem which needs the involvement of both the government and the oil guys. The best the government can do is to remain silent for nine days and then make threats about "keeping the boots to the throat". Very unproductive and side-stepping responsibility. Look, after this is over, BP is going to be sued up the ying-yang and possibly, rightfully so. Lets work together and fix it and stop being afraid that this is Obama's Katrina (which it already is).

Gov. Jindal is asking for permission to build barrier islands to block the flow of oil onto Louisiana's coastline but the EPA needs an environmental study to see if there will be impact to the affected ecosystems. Talk about the Feds being a bunch of fools.

Yet somehow, some of you can't get past GWB's term in office.

Local Union 669 can KMA.

Quick question....if Obama doesn't handle this oil spill correctly and the coastline is damaged and it gets to a city and hurts the residents of Louisiana and possibly New Orleans....will Kanye West come out and say Barack Obama doesn't care about black people?

Just wondering....I couldn't stand Bush, he was terrible, can't stand Obama, he is terrible..makes me long for the good old days when a scandal or a talking point revolved around a wayward cigar or throwing up in Japan....ahh...the good old days...anyway, all of you folks that want to compare how bad Presidents are maybe you should consider Franklin Pierce who was so bad his own party wouldn't nominate him for re-election after he won by a landslide to get his first term...he was a democrat...anyway....food for thought and all.....

Reporters ask the questions their readers want answered.

Then they don't get called on for a question again. Apparently it got too obvious that certain reporters were getting black listed and BO just didn't hold an open news conference for almost a year! Just another broken campaign promise though, no one actually expected him to do a damn thing he promised, did they? It's just about power. Say any lie you like to get elected and expect the idiot voters to come back for more.

so Bush f'd it up enough for 4 terms?

See what I mean about "idiot voters"! Four terms? Rocket, what did Bush F--- up that BO hasn't done exponentially? Has BO done anything at all that he campaigned on? It's been failure after failure for a year and a half now, with no end in sight.

Aren't you guys the same ones that want LESS government involvement? Now you want the government to take over the oil spill caused by a deregulated industry (wonder who did that?)
Make up your frickin' minds. Stop flip flopping!!

There are some things that government is best suited to do because of resources, etc. Damage control from an oil spill is one of them. Perhaps you could explain how deregulation caused this oil spill. I'm quite certain you won't though, I've noticed you prefer to jab and run on these issues.

I don't know about that. It's nothing new that a President gets to pick his "favorites" during a press conference. The FOX blog post points out that Obama has given many more interviews than GWB. They each preferred their own style of communication. And though I agree that it's strange not to hold a press conference for nearly a year, I'll bet whitehouse.gov has a lot more info on it than ever before.

Giving interviews to select lap dogs is very different from taking open questions from the White House press pool. Interviews is what you give when you are in campaign mode trying to tightly control the message. Interviews are what you give when you are willing to answer real questions as a leader. BO has been a very poor leader.

I don't know about the quantity of "information" at whitehouse.gov, but I seriously hope you don't view it as newsworthy information. Controlling the media is one of the things that a fascist regime does as one of the first steps. I'm not trying to say that putting info up at whitehouse.gov is fascist, only that if you are willing to take that as factual info, you are prime to be hoodwinked by a fascist regime.

I have to go mow. ( then ride )

But I will ask...what's better? To be on tv every day and keep looking like an incompetent ass, since you have problems without a teleprompter, or keep contact with the media controlled so you don't look so bad? Your opinion may vary, but Obama's minions chose the smarter path for him, I bet.
