Just one comment. This thread was started by a person who is friends with the guy who was shot. It was about one single incident in which obviously someone who did not deserve to be shot, was shot. He now suffers serious medical consequences that will likely greatly impact the rest of his life. It saddens me that a threat meant to express frustration and anger over that fact turns into a name calling political argument.

OP, I am sorry about your friend and I hope he is able to still have a fulfilling and productive life.

Not all, but a a lot of Canadians are rude, arrogant, inconsiderate jerks and Toronto_s3 falls in that demographic. I live in up state NY and we have a lot of buses that travel thew this area and they stop at the Old Country Buffet. Every time I have been there when one of these buses are there it never fails that several rude and inconsiderate Canandians are there. They will step in front of you and serve their plates with out waiting in line and not say excuse me. Speak that freaking french and are as loud as a baby in a full out fit. The worst I've seen was, when I was going into the restaurant a Canadian jerk on his way out, I saw him picking food out of his teeth and proceeded to wipe it on the hand rail...Needless to say I lost my appetite walked out and went to another restaurant. I have not gone back when there are buses parked there.

Toronto's problem is he is arrogant and is very rude...He will never admit he was wrong with most of the so called fact's he said and will never apologize for hurting the American badwebbers feelings.

Toronto_s3 I think it would be best for you to keep yourself in Canada.

Just like the rest of the world... always a bitch or comment about how bad Americans are, about whatever subject in whatever way and how much better "Their" particular country is on said subject. I especially like the folks that are here on work visa making these statements.

As long as the US is the target of such comparisons on all kinds of subjects the US is doing pretty darned well. You don't hear much about how a given country is better than... oh, let's say Haiti for example.

Paw,

Give the guy a break. He was obviously being helpful, trying to let you sample the fare in advance.

I've spent months in Canada and always found the folks there first rate.

It is really lame to malign an entire nation based on the behavior of a few jerks.

Prowler,

Chill thy own self there Mr. Oversensitive. Your humor/post was not the issue. Now aren't you embarrassed?

I agree with Dynasport! Thank you sir for your thoughtful intervention.

I sure hope that medical science will soon find an affordable way to repair spinal chord trauma and restore full mobility to victims of trauma-induced paralysis.

As to the offending officer, he should be treated no differently than a civilian who decided to shoot in the back a man sitting calmly and compliantly at rest on his motorcycle. Attempted murder-2 is the appropriate charge in my view.

I would hold a police officer to a higher standard than a civilian.

It has always been my understanding that this is EXACTLY how peace officers should be treated.

If they want to be held in high regard, then they should be held to a very high standard indeed.

I've also spent a lot of time crossing the border from BC to California, back and forth. I've eaten horse and smoked at hash bars, had a great time and was treated well by everyone. You find rude, ignorant people no matter where you go. I do my best to ignore them, but sometimes they get my goat and I sink to their level and just call them idiots outright.

At least I can see the problems with my own behavior. Some people just lack this very important quality, and lead dark dismal lives as a result.

If people want to live in a poisonous cloud of hate, that's their own problem. I'll sit here and pray for them to find their own light, no matter which direction it shines from.

The fact that a fellow officer testified by insinuating the other officer had score to settle with the bikers says alot about. Police are pretty tight knit in my experiences.

Hard to argue with the video. I would be VERY curious to see what the other officer would have testified to if there was no video.

Scariest thing about this is probably 5% or less of these barbaric police acts are caught on video. Think how many cops are doing crap like this and getting away scott free due to the "tight knit"-ness of the cop fraternity. Gotta love it!

I've been to Canada before, their beer is expensive, you have to buy it from a government store, everybody is unemployed and on the public dole, except for those dolts working at The Beer Store.

Oh yeah, the women there don't shave.

Why do you think we are living in this vast swampland where it is too cold to ride 9 months out of the year?

My very first ticket on a Motorcycle had to do with the fact that I was being harassed by a car full full of guys. My first motorcycle had a top speed of only 75 downhill. It was at night and I thought I had lost these guys, but when I had a set of headlights come up on me at a high rate of speed I panicked and went faster. So I got a ticket, cop did not buy my story. So looking at the copcam video these guys were being followed pretty close, and obviously the cop had to accelerate to a higher rate of speed to catch up to them. If you look at 2 min. 49 sec. into the video the cop coasts thru the stop sign, did not stop but coasts right on thru. If I were either one of these guys and didn't know for sure it was and officer behind me I would have taken off fast as well.

ME: Since it never gets warm in Canada, there'd obviously be less gun incidents.........

BLAKE: Shame on anyone sinking to the level of insulting or maligning Canada. Very poor form.

DUDE, You seriously need to take a freakin' pill. Grow up. You're in no position to "shame on" me for anything based on your posts lately. Do you have something against trying to add a little humor to a "discussion" that's run totally amuck? Unbelievable......

The testimony of the cop that was across the street is pretty strong stuff.

I was actually quite pleased that he seemed to be giving a truthful account of the situation... unlike the murderer who maintains that he thought the biker was about to pull out a weapon.

No, No, No. Froogy my first bike back in 1982 was a '78 Honda CM400. On a good day it would hit 75.

had a cop(didn't know at the time) follow pretty close to me first thing in the morning up in greenville one morning going to work and when i got to the interstate i nailed the pt turbo and got away from him and that when i realized that he was a cop. pulled over right away and just explained to him what i thought. he just told me to slow it down and i was on my way. he didn't have his gun drawn when he came up to me. this cop didn't even give this guy a chance to say anything. hope he makes it to general population. most cops are people who just want to come home to their families at the end of the work day like everyone else.

This is true and at the time about 7 years ago and @ 240 lbs. I rode My ex-wifes blast with a K&N and full V&H. And it petered out @ 100MPH.

And with that said it would have been nice to see Erik's performance Blast come to life!!! F HD but then again i think it was the best thing to happen to Buell!!!

I think I should continue on here instead of talk about T-3...That is such a waste of time. But, he has proven over and over how much of and idiot he is 1. for not apologizing for his stupid ass orriginal post, which caused almost everyone here to get pissed at him. and 2. he continues to argue his bull$hit facts in that orriginal post.

90 per 100...Hey Toronto my Uncle has enough guns to give each of his neighbors 2 guns. He lives in a horse shoe shaped development in Michigan with about 40 homes in it.

Neverenuf,

This cop will never be in general population at any detention facility.

He'll be placed in protective custody and will not be treated the same as other prisoners.

Nonetheless, he has lost his freedom for maybe 3-5 years and will never work as a police officer again.

It's not good enough for me, but then, who am I anyway? I'm no longer considered a citizen so my opinion probably doesn't count.

So this jackalope gets 5 weeks to figure out whether he is going to shoot himself or abscond...

Methinks it a bad idea.

I wonder how many other people would get the 5 week vacation before their sentence begins after shooting an innocent man in the back...?

Certainly not me or you or any other civilian.

Why did this twit even HAVE a Car OR gun? He's a part time cop?!?! Ya want a part time job you work at the mall or Jiffy Mart NOT shooting people in the back.

I think part time armed cops should be outlawed. We have a town near me that 350 people live in yet has 15 part time police. 1 cop for every 24 people? Oh no we're NOT a speed trap (they write the 3rd highest number of tickets in the state) all the locals KNOW to stay away for there.

I sometimes think the NAZI won the war after all. Papers Please.
