I just got back from my local Harbor Freight (where they didn't have any of the stuff I went in for, but I somehow still came out with $40 worth of stuff)...

Anyway, they had a stack of 9" diameter HID headlights marked WAY down to $39. I think these were originally $150 or something. It has a big shiny chromed enclosure (that felt more like plastic) with a kind of molded in guard on the bottom. Looked like the ballast, etc, was all enclosed in the (pretty big) enclosure, but I didn't dig too deep into the package to find out.

I didn't want or need it, but if I had a tuber and wanted a HID, or a tuber with crash damage on the headlight, I'd probably give it a try. Not sure how well the chromed plastic would hold up, but it's only $40. Size wise, it would be on the big side, but would probably work.

Anyway, FYI, FWIW.
