Well it's happening at last, got some time & the M2 is getting put back together, need a few more bits & pieces to get it finished but nothing urgent.

Motor & swingarm, wheels & oil tank are in, wiring loom threaded through it's bloody tortuous path, new head bearings & a set of WP USD forks that I already had.

Only one problem so far.
I used the new model isolators with the built in ramp, went together easy peasy, BUT the front belt guard/pulley cover wont go on as the plastic fouls the isolator, is this usual?

Still need a clutch cable, front axle, & front caliper if any of you have bits lying about. Oh & that little threaded ball joint that bolts on to the selector lever. Probably some other stuff that I can't remember, but nothing major.

It's not getting rebuilt as a show queen, it'll be carrying it's battle scars & stains with pride.

IIRC, the updated rear iso's require trimming of the pulley cover.

Al even states that on his website.

Update,

Had the XB serviced today, & my mate who is an Indy HD/Buell specialist gave me a spare clutch cable he had hanging around.

I also managed to repair the gear linkage.
Pegs are on (had to EZout a sheared bolt) rear master cyl is mounted & connected.

It's starting to look like a bike again rather than a heap of parts.

No mate sold it to a Parisian.

I'll probably be shopping for another truck end of the year when work & house stuff is sorted.
I fancy an ext cab W250/Ram2500 '92/'93 with a Cummins next.
Or I may just get another Sweptline.

I had to trim my pulley cover on the X1 when I installed new isolators..didn't take much to get it to fit.

Had a good day today, It's a holiday here.
One of the local bike accessory & gear shops had an open day with a couple of supercross guys doing airborne stunts in the carpark including 360° loops amazing stuff, Also 3 scantily clad ladies washing bikes & a mobile dyno.

Met up with a good number of the local Buell crowd who I've not seen for a while, & a few other friends I bumped into.

So far today I've scored a K&N air filter setup, (mine was trashed) & handlebars, in exchange for a billet forkbrace & CF front fender for M2. My mate has one identical to mine he's replaced the K&N with a forcewinder as it gives more room for his knee & I've put S1 forks on mine.

Another friend got a load of odd Buell bits in a job lot of Harley stuff he bought for building his chop's, so I'm of to his tomorrow to pick it over.

Coil, Bars, Clocks, Fuse & relay holders, voltage reg', done.

Trouble is I can't remember how all the wires lay so I'm having to put stuff on & then unplug it & move it round the other side of a frame rail or whatever. It's a bit like doing a jigsaw puzzle.

I'm having a little trouble getting hold of a tuber front caliper over here.

Anybody got a spare lying around that they're prepared to sell for a reasonable price.
