Filtering through LA traffic on Friday afternoon is a "special experience".

You can tell from the whiff and smoke who's tokin'. Once I pulled slowly alongside two young bucks in a 90ties something Japanese econobox. I had noticed they were passing a pipe back and forth.

When I was alongside, I honked the horn and looked sternly at them (my best fatherly look).

You should have seen them scramble and fumble to put the pipe away!

Well, eh.. you had to be there, I guess.

I was at a couple of Homecomings where our huge groups blocked intersections as we rode though. I was not comfortable at all being part of that group.

I would have felt better if we were told to meet up to regroup (where we had police escort) then ride to the Factory. If it was so important for us to stay together we should have had escort for the whole ride.

I am very sensitive about how motorcycles (and bicycles) are perceived by the public. Every time we pass unsafely, make a racket or just a spectacle we are just hurting ourselves. I would like to see someone take video of axxholes like in that one picture and give them all tickets for obstructing traffic.

Question...Correct me if I wrong...Wasn't lane splitting made legal because air cooled bikes could over heat in busy slow moving traffic?

With that said and if it is correct. I think lane splitting should be legal for non liquid cooled bikes only.

It makes no sense for me to sit and wait in traffic when I can "share" my way to the front.

I don't know how it started or why it's still here, but I like it. It's a perk of being on two wheels. We need more rewards, besides the carpool lane, for being space efficient amidst a sea of SUV's.

I was gonna tell you to go to bed already, but I see you're 3 hours behind me. Guess I'm the one that needs to hit the hay!

Hell, if I'd been driving that rig behind, I'd have been talking to the drivers in front of me.
"let me through, I've 40 ton & 400hp that will open the way."

Then chug chug chug, coming through!

Wouldn't be the first time I've run a blockade in a truck.

That is ridiculous. California?

Try that on the beltway in DC...be a whole lotta statistics! On that note, squids come in all colors...

Where are those sticky Toyota gas pedals when you need em?

LOL! Yeppers, those pesky Toyota pedals might have been handy...

OTOH, while all the squids were watching the king douches stunt, it would have been fun to walk behind them with a fully loaded staple gun, to put their poor tires out of their misery...

One nice thing about Tennessee- I've yet to see this mass squid behavior here. "Bubba" don't much care for that shit, might whoop an ass or two for holding up the old Chevy... ; )

To the best of my knowledge "Black Bike Week" so far is the only event that caused the entire myrtle beach shutdown last year, several restaurants and clubs and various other "businesses" decided they would be better off not continuing to serve these patrons...ever!
This decision followed many instances of damage and open rudeness to other patrons as well as walk outs(dine&dash) etc. the list was long for just the first day or two. After that it became a sort of ghost town...except for the brothers on bikes that is.
I still have two tee shirts from the event.

THis one here in Fresno was sponsored by the "Soul Brothers" motorcycle "club." If I lived in Myrtle Beach, I would mark that weekend down every year as my vacation week!

Business owners started to do just that and the NAACP got involved..... big fun for everyone!

OMG. You mean people can't go on vacation whenever they choose to, yet these scumbags can take over a town for a week and generally make life miserable for the residents? What a country!

I'm going to Myrtle this year to "black bike week" with a mixed group of friends. None of which are scumbags or would do anything like that. Let's not generalize on a few bad apples. I'm a white, country azz dude btw. I've never heard of any biker rally being filled with 100% moral Galants.

Apperantly "white bike week" is all Harley riders. While I don't have anything against Harley riders, I just prefer the sportbike scene a lot more.

I live just outside Fresno and these clubs come into town about 3 times a years. Sometimes it's guys on Harleys, other times on sportbikes (I believe they call themselves The N**'r Nationals but I'm not about to say that out loud). While not my thing, I do appreciate the work they've done - Harleys full of bling with killer stereos, sportbikes, lots of Hyabusas and ZX-14's with custom paint and extended swingarms. Besides, if I see one more Alen Ness/ Orange County Chopper cookie cutter "custom" bike, I think I'll puke.

I've not witnessed and hooliganism and regrettably it seems there's one or two fatalities each time but all-in-all I've got no grievances with them. Been in Atlanta too during Freaknic and that was "interesting".

If we want this sport to grow, we need to attract all segments of the population. Why should idiots on motorcycles be restricted to just 18 year old white kids riding in shorts and no shirt? Eventually everyone grows up no matter what race.

Okay, so you're saying idiots of all colors and ages are needed to grow the sport? How about people that aren't "me first and f%@# the world cause Im on a motorcycle and bad?"

With your logic, we won't have a sport soon. the politicians will make sure of it.

Are you in Fresno during these events?

I used to live up by Woodward Park but moved out to the country after getting tired of the commute on 41. I live near Belmont & McCall now and most nights I can hear every squid who has to hit 14,000 rpm between shifts and every Harley with drag pipes pulling away from the stop sign.

My point is that other from some traffic inconvenience these guys are just here to be among their friends. I cannot remember ever seeing any negative reports on the news about our town being overrun by hooligans. I'm sure they spend a fair amount of money here and our no-nonsense police chief has things under control. I have never been harassed when sitting next to them on my bike at a stop light. You know as well as I that nothing approaching that shown in the above picture could or would ever take place.

I see the extra traffic congestion to be not much more than what I've experienced trying to leave Bulldog Stadium after a game with every idiot in town jockeying for position. I guess it just doesn't bother me as much as others. I remember being pretty "squidly" back in 1968; something that was hard to do on a 160 scrambler. }}
