All these homegrown terrorist cells, they were just excercising their freedom of speech right? Planning to blow things up and kill civilians. No normal people plan or talk about those things, and they damn well had intention to do it. Not to mention the drugs, Nazi paraphenelia and bomb making materials. Who posseses bomb making materials? Terrorists, thats who.

After reading your post, I just knew you were from a commie state. Around some parts of this country we still call ourselves citizens. I guess being a subject from the state of Maryland, you wouldn't know that.

Last time I checked, there is no law against owning Nazi gear. Matter of fact a whole bunch of Americans own Nazi stuff. You know why? BECAUSE OUR GRANDFATHERS KILLED THE SHIT OUT OF A BUNCH OF THEM AND TOOK THEIR STUFF.

However, you seem to be the type that buys the hype. You'd be really surprised at the amount of time people and small groups spend planning SHTF type scenarios. It's widely known that in even a Katrina scale disaster that the .gov or the local LEOs aren't there to help.

More than likely they will target the law abiding citizen first for either disarmament or in a real bad disaster seizing their food. Why target the law abiding, well, because we are law abiding.

In short, fighting against looters, LEOs or anyone else is something people who plan to survive disaster plan for.

Drugs very well could be survival preps. As in large quantities of pain meds. Once again the modern survivalist usually keeps a good local doctor in his back pocket. It's not too hard to get a like minded doctor to write you scripts for prepping. Bomb making material could be anything these days. Ever hear of Tannerite? It's perfectly legal to own and pretty fun to shoot at.

Don't believe the hype.

I agree 100% with these guys. The Nazi symbol was adopted by Hitler and modified into Germany's colors. It wasn't always a sign of hatred. It's been perverted.

My own reply to my post... The items I keep could be twisted and distorted into terroristic things, without actually being terrorist related. It depends on who views the list. To someone in Montana, this really isn't a big deal. To someone in DC, Jersey, NYC, I'm going to look like I'm up to no good.

Gun powder, primers, .30 cal. and .50 cal. ball projectiles? I reload my own ammo and shoot black powder.

I also have some cast iron pipes and caps. My house is 100 years old and the original plumbing can't always handle taco night.

Some bleach? I can't have it in my house since I'm trying to adopt.

Simple Green? Cleans grate!

Starter fluid, PB blaster, brake cleaner, maybe 30 gallons of used motor oil, rags, oil liquor bottles, some gas cans, spark plugs? I do all my own work. All of it.

A welder, heavy leather gloves? I like to tinker and freshley welded metal is hot. Like, really hot.

A ski mask? Not really a sky mask, but a thin neoprene balaclava used for cold weather motorcycle rides, most likely stored in a tank bag, but that might not be mentioned because it doesn't fit someone's agenda.

Propane tank/s, matches, etc.? I like to cook out and nothing ruins a cookout like having to run out for another tank for propane.

They also find a couple of survival manuals, a copy of '1984', 'Catcher in the Rye', etc. I like to read and I'm a BoyScout Den Leader.

Depending on the audience and the agenda of the person giving out the information (their ability to be selective by saying 'bomb making materials')

Looks like these guys are getting out on bail.

http://www.freep.com/article/20100503/NEWS06/10050 3069/1001/NEWS/Prosecutors-Delay-release-of-Hutare e-members

U.S. Attorney Barbara McQuade said in the filing that prosecutors were in the process of asking the U.S. Solicitor General to appeal Roberts’ 36-page ruling today that federal prosecutors failed to show the defendants were a danger to the community or a flight risk.

I can't say that I'm surprised that the Feds failed to show them to be a public danger. So far the most damaging evidence we have heard about is a tape where the leader is going on about killing cops, while others are heard talking over each other and laughing. This was at a get together for a stated purpose OTHER than planning a terrorist attack. I just don't believe that these people are conspirators in a plan to start a war with the police based on what has been made public.

If they can do this to these people just think about where you may have been when someone starts talking BS after a few too many. Seriously this is very chilling behavior by our government.

I don't know I sure like to believe our government system works for us but who knows anymore?
I see how bad the State of NJ robs us and all the crap that goes on here it is just all together mind boggling. The authaurities here seem only to care about revenue generating and how much more they can get paid. The truth doesn't really matter and I don't think it ever did.
I still want to believe our government works for us though and can not condone violent revolution or terrorism and every thing that can be done to stop it must be done.In America we are innocent till proven guilty so an inditement doesn't mean much they can indite for just about anything.Give em a fair trial and see what happens. But don't hold em and do nothing it is costing us money we don't have.

I agree with you for the most part. It is interesting though that very few groups of people are specified as having rights under the constitution. Most rights are just granted to the people at large. The 2nd amendment does however give specific constitutional protections to militia groups. When you read the words of our founders you find that they say the militias as a last defense against our government becoming tyrannical.

I have no problem with prosecuting a militia group to the full extent of the law if it is proven that they were doing what these folks are accused of. It sounds like they hadn't even gathered up the basics for the "WMDs" that they were going to make. Given that the under cover agent was key to putting these together, there would have been little danger to get them with the hard evidence before it could be assembled into bombs. The Feds really jumped the gun on this one. It will destroy the people involved in every possible way. Very disturbing.

Looks like they will be released on bond today. It also looks like the Feds have done a very poor job so far.

http://www.detnews.com/article/20100506/METRO/5060 380/1409/METRO

quote:

Detroit -- Nine Hutaree militia defendants are to appear in federal court at 11 a.m. today to be released on bond, a court official said.
.
.
.
"The government simply failed to establish, by clear and convincing evidence, that the seriousness of the charges ... is sufficient for the court to conclude that there were no conditions that will reasonably assure the safety of the community," Roberts said in an order.
.
.
.
Prosecutors have cited Saturday's funeral for Detroit Police Officer Brian Huff, killed in the line of duty Monday, as a reason for delaying any releases.

That is "baseless and inflammatory," lawyers for Stone's adopted son, David Stone Jr., said in a court filing Wednesday.
.
.
.
The defendants are charged with seditious conspiracy and attempted use of weapons of mass destruction -- charges that carry penalties of up to life in prison.

But after two days of bond appeal hearings and in her order, Roberts expressed doubts about the weight of the government's sedition case.

She also said the government's original motion seeking a stay, filed Monday, is "woefully inadequate."

I'm guessing you won't hear boo about any of this unless you search it out. They got the head lines they were looking for though. Never mind the rights of those who get trampled to accomplish that goal though.

Charging them with attempted use of mass destruction? This seems like a charge that might fit the Muslim terrorist that tried to blow up a car bomb in NY. I haven't heard that described as a WMD by anyone though. Seriously these guys didn't even have the components, at least as far as the Feds are letting on so far in court, and I would hope they would use that kind of evidence to keep them in jail if it existed. They haven't made any claim of having that evidence though, so I'm guessing it just doesn't exist.

Are you one of those young progressive douche bags that equates farming or growing corn to being stupid or redneck as opposed to a che worshiping hipster that spends alot of time at starbucks pretending to understand chomsky?
