BadWeBrs! Please help!

We need the following Buell S1 Lightning Parts so that Brian can complete a display honoring his late brother Richard Nallin ("Scrap" on BadWeB) in the Louisiana Museum of Champions.

Brian recovered the old multiple record setting, championship winning Buell S1 Lightning drag bike but the entire front end is gone, including clamps, switches and controls. He needs those parts that will fit a 1998 Buell Lightning. Forks from an S3 should work okay I think.

The engine is also gone, but all Brian really needs is a complete bottom end. Brian can take care of the top end.

He also needs a head light with the brackets, a set of polished PM wheels, and both brake calipers.

If you can help Brian obtain any of the above, please PM him here or contact him via any of the following:

The headlight will work, but the brackets are too small for the USD forks.

Bri, would be nice to see a list of what you have gotten of the parts you need. It would help us know what to keep looking for.

Brian: I found the brake rotor in the Entropy Lab del Sud-do you still need it? It's yours for a usable oil pump--my S2 motor took a dump on me today...

Pix on the Texas S2step thread. It ain't pretty.

Okay guys,

I have gotten an overwhelming response. The guy that has the remains is trucking them to Ricky from Alabama Wednesday of this week. What I want to do is let the stuff get there and there are a few parts that are on the way in. I want to let it get here and let the others land and then Ricky and I are going to go through and make a specific list of what I am looking for. Couple things that I absolutely KNOW that aren't there that have to be there.

Triple clamps - Upper/lower and stem
Front Fender
Front brake rotor

These are a known. After that we'll get a list together. Thanks guys.

I don't know why, but I just saw this thread.

Capt Pete has a whole(kind of) Mighty Whitey of his own here in one of my storage trailers....I guess you have all that sorted out though.

I had a gentleman call me today and ask me if I was acquainted with a guy named Richard Nallin. Of course I tell him that I do know him and we lament for a moment or two about the loss of such a fine young man. He goes on to relate a story of a meeting with an even younger Richard and how he purchased a "Street Tracker" from the hot rod(Richard) himself back in the day.
It seems, I will be receiving the bike here in August for some refurbishing. I was going to call you Brian. Anyway, I saw this and thought, how apropos.

That's awesome Pam. Hard to believe Richard left us a year ago the 25th of this month isn't it? Anyway, enough of that sadness. I went down to Erik Buell Racing yesterday and met with Erik. Even ole Henry Duga was hanging out. Had a great visit about the old days and got him to sign the fly screen for the bike before it hits the museum. Strange how life throws these curve balls isn't it? Anyway, I have Ricky taking some pictures (he promised) and will try to get them posted as soon as possible.

Mighty Whitey officially lit back off tonight after eight plus years of languishing in a tool barn. Thanks to all who helped find parts!

Richards old Sporty (flat track) is leaving the shop today. The gentleman that now owns it is enamored with it and the previous owners history. I have a hand written (by Richard) rundown of the bike. If you want a copy, Brian, let me know. I can probably scan it and send it. Pretty cool.

Just wanted to quickly touch base and say that the induction went great and the 'ole S1W is now safely nestled into the museum. Thanks to all who helped. It means more to my family than you will ever know. Thanks also to Blake and his lovely wife for making the trip from Kilgore, Tx to be a part of it. Blake, I really wanted to try and hook up after the banquet but I guess I missed you. It was a crazy time trying to make sure everyone was settled in and I would have loved to have had a bit of time to catch up. Maybe down the road. Pam, that would be great if you get a minute to make a copy for me. Funny how those things that you thought were insignificant like that note can come to be so cherished. Thanks for thinking of me.

Brian,

It was truly our honor and pleasure to attend the banquette. Keith of Dark Horse Moto also made the trip with us from Kilgore. He met Richard when he spent some time with his Buell on the Dyno at Shreveport H-D/Buell some years ago.

Your speech was moving and really touched all the hearts in the room. You and Leslie were the highlights of the presentation/podium. Well let's be honest, Your sweetheart Leslie was the highlight of the place. LOL! : )

The massive hall was packed. They were having to set up several new tables at the last minute just to find seats for everyone. We enjoyed sitting with Paul and Kalana (forgive my recollection of her name if it is inaccurate) and their daughter, and we all enjoyed the dinner too.

The museum display looks fantastic, really first class. It wasn't difficult to recall hearing the bike run in anger. What great memories. Great job! Richard would be nothing but humbled.

Was great to see you again even if only briefly.

God bless amigo,

Blake
