Today we could find bikes for each of us. Thx Eagle Rider, John Skipper and the woman from Mancuso Harley-Davidson Central, who helped us! But we could not find any rental companies where we can pick the bikes in Houston and drop them in other place. So we will back here again in 10 days. Road_thing, You have been already here. So Vasily--how was Hwy 90? Be sure to pass through Big Bend National Park, then ride from there on Hwy 170 through Study Butte and Terlingua to Presidio. From Presidio you can go north to Marfa and Fort Davis. Those are the mountain areas I circled on your map. Pictures, man, we need pictures! Be safe. rt | ||

Yeah... I have photo but not so many one of them:  Late a bit I will post here more pics. I am in San Diego in California. We rode on 8 Road near the border at night and we were so cold I do not know that it is cold at night in California. And near San Diego the road is so difficult for night riding. There are many steep slope, raise and turns. We rode so slowly. 1000 miles from TX to CA only for 24 hours!!! We have done the work for Iron Butt Status. It was so difficult and whole day we were slipping. Tomorrow I think we will ride to LA! | ||

Vasily, I would highly encourage you both to take Doerman's offer up, I flew into California once for a business trip and Doerman was very kind to show me around the area and help me find some great beer and food. We sat and shared many good stories and most importantly we talked about Buell and riding motorcycles for hours. Sadly I had to return too soon otherwise he would have had me carving up California highway on one of his machines in no time! "Ozzie" is a down to earth kinda guy and certainly the type of person you want to know for many years to come. I highly encourage you meet up with him and take his offer. Ride safe and have fun! (I am sooooo jealous by the way!) | ||
