Had my first yesterday. Wasn't ready for the car in front to stop and squeezed the brake hard. It felt like the tire was about 2 ft high, but was surely less. I had the bike straight, so no drama. I think once is enough and will try to leave more space and keep both tires on the pavement.

Used to do them coming up alongside cars at stoplights. Was really fun when I would go to one side of a car, and a buddy on the other side. ....back in my squid days... : p

I canned the brakes hard enough on the Xb once last year on the freeway when I got cut off that I locked up the front at about 75 mph....that'll make you pucker! ....and crush lefty a bit too...ouch!

i have been experimenting with my brakes to see how hard i can squeeze them at different speeds before i lose contact with my back wheel. i dont plan on doing stoppies for fun b/c i know it'll just bite me in the end if i do, but i do want to know how hard i can squeeze before i get suprised by a stoppie

I did that near the end of the season last summer, my pulse was racing for at least 20 minutes after the fact.

I was leaving Robbinsville a few years ago heading for the Dragon when an old man in a very old Lincoln Town Car cut me off to the point where I did a very impressive stoppie. There were a couple of guys on bikes coming the other way that gave me very high thumbs up. If they only knew...

I did them all the time ( unintentionally) on the XB9SX and had a few on my old Tuber coming off of Battle Trax a couple of times.
Total Control level 2 teaches you the correct body position for a stoppie last summer I was taking this class and even the guys with the big BMW LT's with the linked brakes got a little off of the ground. Teaching Rider's Edge sometimes I did them when doing the quick stop demo. They're fun aren't they? K
