When I was in second grade, JFK's school fitness plan was the big thing. All this, 40 years before high fructose corn syrup and video games...

While the food may be a factor. It's a hell of a lot more than just the food.

Amen.

Biggest problem is, instead of going out and *playing* football or baseball or soccer...kids are going home, perching on a sofa in front of a plasma screen with a bag-o-cholesterol...and "playing" a video game of soccer or football.

Badweb is bad enough for me as a time-waster. I always have, and still do, refuse to have a video game console in my home. Never had one, never will. Period. They have absolutely NO redeeming qualities in my eyes.

And +1,000 Dave. I used to teach archery at a summer camp, and you could really tell the difference between the kids who kept grinding the bows into the dirt because they had to be there for a week, compared to the kids who buckled down, had good form, stepped up through the bows nearly daily - and *never lost an arrow* (if you pay attention, you see how they fly and where they land - radical concept, I know). And they signed up for week after week of class, racking up CAA qualifications. I need to get back in shooting-shape now that my rotator cuff is fully healed. Should probably replace my string first though...and find a new glove (I never liked triggers).

I remember doing archery at summer camp like 15 years ago, that was fun. I doubt I could do it now, I am too fat and crippled, I can barley lift 20lbs, no way I can pull it.

Froggy...we've met. You're "fat" like I'm "fat", LOL.

And you wouldn't be so crippled if you'd quit dropping Buells!

I'm weak as a kitten these days. One major reason for not dropping the bike is that I'll have to wait for a ten year old to help me pick it up.
