I have no problem with Biden in comparison to Obama. Obama is doing real damage to our country whereas Biden is an ineffective party hack. He would be the perfect shlump until we can replace him with a Conservative.

FB,

You can now double dip me in s**t, pinch my cheeks, and call me Sally. I always took you for a BHL and assumed you were a "lip locking with Obama" kind of guy.

Sally, I'm many things, and that goes for my politics, as well. I'm NOT a BHL, altho I do have liberal views on many issues. It's often discouraging to be locked into being a "this" or a "that" when it comes to politics.

I'm a patriotic American, that's for sure.

In the photo I pasted above, right after the playing of the National Anthem the officer standing to the right of Mr. Obama should have reached over and bitch-slapped him.

It'll be interesting to see if Mr. Obama is indeed a one-term president. His popularity numbers are obviously trending down, but there are a lot of people in this country quite content to live on the governmental teat in exchange for their liberty.

I recently read the book 1776 by author David McCullough. It's a stark refresher as to what this country stands for and the huge sacrifices our nation's early patriots made to insure a free society and a representative government.

Times have obviously changed dramatically in the intervening 234 years, but there is NO way the Founding Fathers [edit] would approve of [end edit] the government our government has become.

If George Washington were alive today, I think he'd have some harsh words for Mr. Obama and his Comrades.

Jerry, I like that you're not a this or a that. It's what makes you Jerry.
Since you've already read 1776 might I suggest The 5000 Year Leap, it's a great read, and it's not a this, or a that book.
It's about our Founding Fathers, quotes from them, how they came up with the Constitution, and how they felt about Natural Law.
Their debates, philosophy, and all kinds of things that were going on back then that should have been taught in American History class.
It amazes me how they knew what would happen, and how they tried to keep it from happening.
Our Founding Fathers were geniuses, and had amazing forethought.

Glitch, thx for the heads-up - I just finished ordering the book from Amazon.

One wonders if Mr. Obama has read it...

"The bottom line seems to be that the TARP loans were 'repaid' with other TARP funds in a Treasury escrow account. The TARP loans were not repaid from money GM is earning selling cars, as GM and the administration have claimed in their speeches, press releases and television commercials," he wrote.

GM "repays" loan using TARP funds

GM was shouting from the mountain top all weekend long about how they "repaid" their loan. What a bunch of liars. You have been deceived and continue to be deceived.

Looks like you are the one being deceived by Fox News, again. GM received two cash injections, one was a loan, the other was an equity investment. As per the thread title and commercials, the LOAN was repaid in full, 100% true, no BS.

Also take a note how no other major news network picked up on the "story".

The story is breaking from the Senate's Committee on Finance.

Grassley's Letter to Treasury

Why aren't the other network's covering this story? You've got to be kidding, right? The Liberal media has disgraced itself since the 2008 Presidential campaign.

Some are reporting this.

GM-pays-back-government-loans-with-TARP-funds

The National Review is also covering the story.

Froggy, you shouldn't be posting that information on BadWeb because too many people on here want General Motors (an American Corporation) to fail! It keeps too many Americans employed and that's a bad thing when your main objective is to see a failure.

Shame on you!

You misunderstand, many want GM to survive, if only to keep making Corvettes.

We just don't like to be lied to by a company that was bought by the govt. under false pretenses, by a guy who lied about his motives & desires.

Why do you insist on believing provable lies from a serial pathological lier?

Remember, want Obama to fail, America to succeed.

To be more clear.... IF Barack wants to socialize America, we want him to fail at that. ( any doubt that that IS his goal? )

America winning in the "good war" on the Afghan front is good. economy growing & recovering is good, Going to the moon is good, exploiting the universe for the betterment of mankind is good, having a cleaner environment is good.

Theocratic rule, and a nanny state...BAD.

"As per the thread title and commercials, the LOAN was repaid in full, 100% true, no BS. "

How is that possible when they are continuing to lose money? The raw honest truth is that they simply took more of our money to pay back what they already owed.

It's ludicrous.

The guy now running GM, appointed by Obama's administration is the same guy that helped earn Eric Holder something like $16M windfall.

I didn't catch the details, but the guy has no prior experience in the industry.

Nothing to see here, move along, GM is paying back their loan, no questions please.

"the other was an equity investment"

Uhmmmmmm. What is a fair "equity investment" for a bankrupt company?

It was a gift of our money with the hope that GM will someday turn things around and actually start earning a profit. If/when they will ever earn enough to justify the value of our "equity investment" will be up to the free market, that darn thing that if let alone to work as it should would have shut the doors on GM some time ago.
