That's a real ethical dilemma, leave it in the crate untouched or go ahead and assemble it. It's a shame to not ride em but found in a crate like that will only go up in value more than an assembled one. | ||

Normally I'm all about riding what you have - that's how it is for me personally - if I have it, I ride it. BUT, there are exceptions to the rules and I think sometimes it's okay for things to sit in a museum so that it doesn't get used up and lets others enjoy it and have the chance to see one. I think at least one of these should stay in the crate and be put on display - this is just way too rare of a find to just slap it together and ride them all. | ||

The New/Old Nortons went for between 14 & 15 thousand euros each at auction. So there'll be auctioneers fees & taxes to pay on top of that. For a ballpark figure roughly around $22-23k. There were loads of other bikes in the auction too, A John Player Racing 750 Norton hit the hammer at at €100,000. While a brand new still in the box Matchless G80 went at €7900. 2 new MZ Scorpion Sport 660s went at 3100 & 3600. Many used Triumphs, Nortons & MZs. Plus hundreds of lots of new & used spares mostly British or MZ. BTW, I got this info from the Auction house website. I had to create a non-generic email address just to create an account at the Auctioneers, so I could see what the sale prices were. That's why there's no link.
