He was riding his 96 HD at 1:00 am in Wisconsin. Unfamiliar with area, drinking, no helmet. Bike traveled 72 feet in the air and landed on top of him. (I'll spare the details) He was one of the nicest people I've met since moving to Illinois. I left my bike in the garage Monday but got it out this morning. Put the passenger pegs down and rode to work. Gonna miss him.

Another of my friends rode to work today on his HD wearing a full face helmet. He's been a dew rag guy since before I met him and talked him into going and getting his license. He said the death was an eye opener. Hope he keeps wearing it.

sorry to hear about your friend-but the fact that it changed your non-helmeted friends riding habit is at least one good thing to come from it. Just sucks that it takes a tragedy for people (including myself) to wake up sometimes. I lost a best friend to drunk driving nearly 20 years ago,and took it VERY hard-yet drank and drove for years anyway.
life's lessons are a very tough course sometimes.thoughts and prayers to your buds family and friends.

I'm sorry for the death of your friend. I hope you can find comfort in knowing that maybe his death resulted in others wearing a helmet, and maybe that will save their life someday. I had a similar experience, I wont threadjack, but I'll never be in a car without a seatbelt again.

Why do the good ones die when there are so many A-Holes for God to take instead ? I guess he doesn't want to be surrounded by A-Holes either.

My condolences to all...RIP...

Ourdee, sorry to hear about your friend's death. It doesn't matter what brand of motorcycle he rode, the helmet or any other details about the accident, the loss of life is the only concern here and when one's life has ended, we only have the memories that were left behind to cherish. We all need to live every day to the fullest and enjoy all that life has to bring us!

If I die tomorrow, I hope it's on my motorcycle because at least I know it's something I truly enjoyed doing.
RIP
