Just a question, how are the pictures of an XB relevant to the topic of the 1190RR?

Guess Harold must be a hell of a rider since the HP numbers are bogus.

Perhaps. But then Harold isn't really racing against 'real' superbikes is he.

At best they're privateer modified streetbikes, none of which are putting down anywhere near National SBK or WSBK levels of power.

Or you could go on with your life and not worry about policing us sheep. Unless of course you have nothing better to do than worry about what other think there Negative Nancy (or is that Rocketman?)

Lew360- because if you follow the link, or have been paying attention to the announcements, Pegasus Race Team competed in several classes over the weekend at EuroSpeedway (Lausitzring) with the 1190RR, an 1125R, and an XB12R. Congratulations are in order for all three bikes/riders who were successful. The big news is, however, that the 1190RR won its first two races in its competitive debut.

Wheres185- your idiocy is not worthy of a response.

Wheres185 is a new member and probably from one of those whinning in-line four forums...Chances are he live in the USA and wants to see an American bike lose to foreign competition...Not much of an American if you ask me!!! And if you are not an American then your response is fine with me.

But if you are an American and rooting against and American manufacture, then you should go live in Japan, Germany or Italy and truly root for the manufacture you love.

I bet he is a squid too.

That maybe true, BUT I DOUBT IT. Even so the Buell is still whipping the in-line fours and ducatis that have more displacement. Don't bother wasting your time with excuses. Go back to your whinning in-line four forum where you will get father there with you "EXCUSES".

David McGrath and Rick Boyles saw 185 hp from an 1190cc engine last October on Buell's dyno. There were a lot of things not fully optimized in that engine, or some of the associated parts (airbox, exhaust). The 1125RRs that finished as high as 6th at the New Jersey AMA race last year, weren't making within 10 hp of that, and managed to finish ahead of Blake Young on his Yosh Suzuki. The 1190RR is also lighter than last year's AMA bikes, not requiring the 20+ pounds of ballast to hit the AMA's 385 pound twin weight limit. There is no question in David McGrath's mind (see his posting on the WERA 13x forum) that the 1190RR would be competitive in any national Superbike series. WSB would take more development and another 20 hp. Given a reasonable (i.e. WSB budget) amount of time and money for development, it could be a top 10 finisher in WSB for 2011. Riders we were running against at New Jersey were coming up to McGrath and Corey West saying the handling of the 1125R was amazing, that it could do things and go places on the track that they couldn't.

The fairing and radiator package of the 1190RR was largely finished in about 8 weeks last fall, most of the work occurring after the shut-down announcement. There was time for one CFD run on the fairing, not enough for optimization, but enough to predict it was the best water-cooled aerodynamic package ever on a Buell, comparable or better than a 1198R, which is significantly more aerodynamic than Japanese Superbikes. The 1190RR would not only be competitive in AMA Superbike, it would almost certainly win races with the right rider and team running it.

Naw, I'll let CW put it on its dyno itself . . .

This response breaks the basic rule: do not feed the trolls. Keep in mind, those who can't do, troll. Taylor Knapp and Corey West proved last year that even a partially developed 1125RR could be competitive. To believe a much more optimized 1190RR couldn't run with 1000 Fours is to be a deliberate ass.

One thing to keep in mind is we ran the 1125RR very well instrumented, and pulled data from both test sessions and races. Those were compared with and used to calibrate race track simulations set up by analytical engineering wizard John Fox so we could see exactly what was required to get the next Superbike at the front of the pack. There were 2 basic issues that were keeping us back, and we set to work on them immediately. The 1190RR is the result, though there is one additional component/system-modification that has been delayed -- not stopped -- because of the shutdown.

Or, as Mat Mladin noted after New Jersey, it was ridiculous how quickly the Buells were developing; give them another 10 horsepower, Mat wrote, and they would be winning everything. Well, we did, but the homologation effort was at least temporarily stopped by the closing of Buell Motorcycle Company.

Very cool, sounds like the future is bright. It's going to be great to see how Jens and the team go for the rest of the SOT series and how things go with the 1125RR at Infineon : )

Stated virtually perfectly. : D
