Yup, wouldn't pass up a chance to ride the Pacific Coast Highway if you get the opportunity, it's pretty cool. |

Yea, Phoenix, "the city" has little to offer a rider passing through. I never said there was anything IN Phoenix, besides a free meal, and place to rest. Hell, we don't even have any good dealerships! But the surrounding areas are spectacular, the back road to Prescott, Hwy 60 to Show Low through the Salt River Canyon, Hwy191, (which makes the Dragon look like a bunny trail). Heart Attack Grill? Yea, if you want to add a few pounds, and clog your arteries a bit more. I think a quick run up South Mountain would be more interesting than that! |

Chiracaua National Monument. Think it's in ARIZONA! (I was there 20 years ago - some great roads to ride) Also, Tombstone, Arizona (Especially if you like Westerns) Don't miss the Grand Canyon (as mentioned previously) Whilst there, you could take in the Painted Desert and the Petrified Forest as well as the (I forget the name) Biggest crater I have ever seen. Welcome to the USA. Chris C |

Let's not forget the hospitality of of Sheriff Joe at tent City if you mess up. I noticed most of the nay sayer here are from Wisconsin, half people in this area from Wis. or Minn. I would bet those may sayer will be living here in one of the Sun Cities before to long. Any takers on that bet. 300 days of Sun can't be all bad. |

+1 on Pacific Coast Hwy. While in Oregon you might want go a little more West and see Crater Lake. However like someone said be careful of the snow, it melts late at elevation. Have fun and be safe!! |

Thank everyone for your comments Today we have created our exact way. Here it is. The trip will be divided into two parts. First part, from Houston to San-Diego(or Los Angeles) will be on the bikes. The second part from San-Diego(or Los Angeles) to Seattle will be on the car. Rental bikes is so expensive for 3 weeks. we also figured the approximate dates when we will be in cities. Here's a short list: 11-13 April - Houston 18-20 - Los Angeles 22 - Las Vegas 25 - Grand Canyon 27 - Salt Lake City 30 - Seattle |

Yes!!! You will pass the Vermillion Cliffs just north of the beginning of the Grand Canyon... and even that will take your breath away if you hit it near sunset... might want to watch out for those weird fundamentalist mormons in that area though... obey the law... speed limits, etc on the Navajo Nation as well... cool beans!!! |

Those weird fundamentalist mormons won't do you any harm. They're just weird for their own benefit. I've seen enough of them to know that. I'll be in Moab or Canyonlands the 24-26, so if you are passing through southern UT then let me know. Gonna be doing some canyoneering and backpacking, I'll have that info set this afternoon I think. So if you want to see some desert coolness we might be able to meet up. |

Yeah the UEP will probably leave you alone if you do not have any 12 or 13 year old girls with you... still watch your speed bc who knows what can happen in Northern Arizona... I once almost ran out of gas just south of the Grand Canyon riding my Yamaha 750 SECA (my first bike)... it was an eerie feeling even back in the mid 90's... |

16 and 17 April is our racing weekend at Willow Springs. It is 1.5 hours NORTH of Los Angeles. Saturday is practice, Sunday are the races. Friday (15th) I have to be working on the preparation of the bike (rocker box gaskets) - so probably can't make it down to the LA area. |

I would love to return the favor, rent a Ural and jam through the Russian Country side. Something equitable, like starting in Moscow and ending in Odessa |

Looks like a good trip but I do have a couple of suggestions. From LA to Las Vegas you may want to go through Laughlin, NV. There's a big rally there that weekend and you may want to experience it. From Las Vegas pick up old Route 66 in Kingman,AZ it's a really nice ride compared to I-40. If you can, go to Monument Valley when you leave the Grand Canyon. If you watch American westerns, you'll recognize the place. Otherwise, have fun and visit again. |

Vas! Take the turn off of I-8 in California at Ocotillo and go up Hwy S-2 to 78. Bang a left and go up the back way to Julian. From there you can head down the Sunrise Hwy back to the 8 and on into San Diego. You won't hate that detour, I promise... |

>>>I aspire to be the Court Canfield of Houston, Texas! Should be easy . . . . I've been feeding Australians for the last couple weeks. Give'em a big ol hug and they'll follow you straight to the dumpster. Here's a pic of one in mid-feeding yesterday . . . . I am sorry to report that the dog . . . likely wiser than the cumulative intellect of those gathered round the bin . . . looked at us in disgust and walked away. Yes. He mentioned you getting him arrested in Wendover. Vasily . . . be scared . . VERY SCARED ! |

That's an accurate statement . . . if you'd been on S-2 back on Christmas day about 15 years ago you'd have found me and Joesph Gaspard secretly wringing the snot out of a yellow Buell S1. It's a fabulous road. |
