So it took two days for the Apple haters to rear their heads. Unless you count the tangential Flash conversation, which is an indirect anti-Apple rant. Awesome!
Anyway, like I was sayin', shrimp is the fruit of the sea. You can barbecue it, boil it, broil it, bake it, saute it. Dey's uh, shrimp-kabobs, shrimp creole, shrimp gumbo. Pan fried, deep fried, stir-fried. There's pineapple shrimp, lemon shrimp, coconut shrimp, pepper shrimp, shrimp soup, shrimp stew, shrimp salad, shrimp and potatoes, shrimp burger, shrimp sandwich. That- that's about it.

----- FIGURES FROM NETAPPLICATIONS, which are always quoted by Apple fanbois claiming that their OS X operating system really rules the world, are showing that Jobs' Mob's OS is in retreat. -----
I've been in the computer/high tech industry for years and if there is one thing that never goes out of style, it's spin. Every company I have worked for (and in all fairness I worked for Apple for ten years), has spun things in ways that simply makes you shake your head. Every company has people who write about the industry that are biased and will regurgitate numbers, "facts", and pretty much any and everything else to make their point. Similar in many ways to politicians all over the world.
Depending on who you listen to, the Mac market runs anywhere from 5-10%. The point is, it's not the 80+ percentage Windows has, but also not the sub 4% that Linux has. I think we can leave it at that and have a pretty good idea of where things stand.
One thing however stands out, that's Apple's ability to have people talk about it regardless of what side of the coin you fall on. With all it's marketshare, where is the last time people on a non-computer website got excited about a Microsoft, or Linux product? Google/Android is probably the ONLY other thing I have seen in the past couple of years that people were truly excited about and posted on non-computer boards. Although I have often wondered if that was because the iPhone garnered so much attention.
So, pick your numbers and your sources, like nearly everything else in this world, we can always seem to spin it into either a negative or positive. Ultimately though, if you like, use it.
For the record, one of my coworkers bought one and had it at the office yesterday. I played with it for about 5 minutes and can see some attraction to it, but then I also own an iPod Touch and really like that device.

Thats the Inq's writing style, they have been doing it for years. They write that about everything, they even use nicknames like The Vole to represent Microsoft and refer to Firefox as FireFerret. They are a bit tabloidish, but thats why I provided a link to some data so you can see for yourself.
April 4, PC Magazine – First iPad jailbreak demoed. A iPhone Dev Team member has released a video showing a rough demo of a jailbreak that’s given him access to the iPad’s software inner workings. While it’s more of a developmental hack than a full-functioning, consumer-grade jailbreak at this point, it’s only matter of time before iPad amateurs will be able to unleash the tweak on their own devices. And, of course, that means third-party application installers like Cydia are but a touch or two away. How does the jailbreak work? The details are unclear. However, since the jailbreak is allegedly based off of a jailbreak for the iPhone called, “Spirit,” written by a developer called Comex, it’s safe to say that the methods used will be similar when the consumer-grade jailbreak is unleashed. So the 3g model will have cell tower triangulation?
Wow. I guess I wouldn't really take that thing out in the woods anyway.
It's a cool toy but that's about where it ends.
As for market share, conduct your own studies. Walk into, well, anywhere... see what computers they use to run things. Windows up front and Linux in the back.
iPhone 3Gs uses sats, cell tower and wifi thus the term A_GPS.
iPad 3G will use the same process.
Assisted GPS just gives the receiver more info to process its location. Just like a WAAS enabled stand alone GPS unit is more accurate than one without it.
You mean a date that was wrong? The data was from 2008, genius. Apple lost almost half their marketshare in a little over a year. Embarrassing, and proof that people are finally seeing the light.
So guys - why such a streak of hate for everything Apple? You certainly seem to stick your opinion into any discussion that might tangentially mention Apple. How much experience do you have using Apple products? How about the iPhone? Any first-hand experience with it? I'm just curious. I could definitely understand if you used Apple for work, and had to deal with problems all the time. At least you'd have a foundation for your Apple-hate. Of course, if it's based on "I used an Apple IIe in 1984 and it was a piece of crap!" then it's just about a useless opinion. But if it's all based on stuff you "just know" being a Windows user, and things you read on websites, well...
How is it different from a Honda rider who "just knows" that Buells are slow and don't handle as well as Japanese I4's?
I picked up an IMac last month and so far I like it. It's faster then my Dell that died 3 months out or warranty and with the exception on not having OneNote I like the software.
Remember the good old days of DOS and computer bulletin boards before the internet........I guess I'm just getting old. My first computer was a Commodore 64
I gotcha beat on that... My 1st was a Timex Sinclair ZX80. Circa 1980. Then a Radio Shack Color computer, then a Commodore 64. Then a B128 that a wrote, and ran my own BBS with.
I can see numerous commercial applications, None that I will pay the release price for, but there are several that will make it worth getting when the price halves in 18 months time.

Except for a lot of Academia, film studios, publishing houses and the majority of creative enterprizes.
