I was thinking of going and tent camping during AMA Vintage Days. I like the creature comforts but would like to be there instead of in & out to a motel - if even available?? Any one do the campground & have some input to showers & facilities?
Thanks

July 9 - 11.
Hope someone has experienced this and has some input. I would think it will start selling out quick?

They do have their regular showers and portable showers available for both of the AMA weekends in July.

They do have some camping on site. Most tent sites are out in the open field though. There were some wooded areas for camping, but they were reserved for workers.

As Rde48 stated, there are shower houses available (I didn't notice the portable ones). They were in decent shape, and about as clean as can be expected with that large of a crowd.

I appreciate the input guys.
That's sort of what I figured from the pics as far as sunny. Maybe we will see who else is planning to attend w/ this thread?

I'm about 2 hours from there if you end up needing anything and nobody is closer. Neat event, worth the trip.

I camped a couple of years back and have also done the motel thing. Camping is cool if you enjoy the camaraderie and the odd two-stroke-tuning in the middle of the night...pretty cool. The campsites now have designated areas which, if you're on a bike is super spacious. I hadn't seen the porta-showers but the permanent showers are a 10 minute walk away. Camping is the way to do demo rides though as you can get in line before the gates open....FWIW. Not too many shaded areas (trees around edge of the campground)... I think a good number go to season ticket holders / vendors. I was thinking about going for superbike this year....(the weekend following Vintage Days)

speaking of Mid-Ohio,....

KTM is offering regualr type demo rides on 4/24-25th and track days on 4/26-27th at Mid-Ohio. I'm signed up for both Mon and Tues. There are still slots open, and they even have some leathers to rent. RC8R, RC8, Supermoto 990 and 690. They come with fresh tires and setup for the track. $275

Sat and Sun they have the std demo days on their entire street line, but I don't think you ride on the track itself.

here's more info on the weekend demo's.

The KTM Ride_Orange Street Demo Rig is coming to Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in advance of the first set of KTM Race_Orange Track Day Experience dates at The Mid-Ohio School.

During the first Performance Track Riding dates of the year, April 24th and 25th KTM will be offering street demo rides for qualified riders* (see below) on several of its bikes including the 690 SMC, 690 Duke, 690 Enduro, 950 Enduro, 990 Adv, 990 SMT, 990 SMR and the 990 Super Duke. Riders will be sent up the Boulevard and out onto Steam Corners Road for their 20-minute stint.

These rides are not only available to riders participating in the Standard Day and Standard 2-Day Performance Track Riding programs but also to their friends and family. This is a great opportunity to test out many of KTM’s street products at a track you’re already going to be at – or should be at! – for Performance Track Riding.

The demo rides will be offered in the afternoon (1pm - 6pm) on Saturday, April 24th and in the morning and afternoon (10am - 6pm) on Sunday, April 25th. Spots will be filled first-come, first-serve on site. Sign ups will be at the Street Demo Rig parked by the Middle Paddock.

*Participants must be 25 years old and have a valid motorcycle license. Each rider must be outfitted in a DOT helmet, eye protection, jacket, gloves, pants and sturdy foot wear.
