It's wrapped in some very sexy bodywork that hopefully has some Harley-Davidson board members kicking themselves. and screaming, "where's the chrome!?
There that's more like it.
Will Buell sell streetbikes again in the near future?
Now that we've seen what he can do, we hope so.

Now that we've seen what he can do?
Where have these fellas been?

It was amazing what he was able to accomplish while being throttled back by the hammerheads at Harley. We know that NOW, the vast majority of people out there just assumed what they saw from Buell was the best he was CAPABLE of doing. It's just now coming out that he could've been where he is now YEARS ago if the jackasses at Harley Davidson let him do what he wanted to do.

Meanwhile, "across the pond," I hear BMW is nearly out of S1000RRs, and the dealerships are trying to get more. BMW "get's it." Harley? Well... you decide... their idea of capturing the youth market is putting a fat, spoked wheel on the Sportster and calling it an "all new model" for the younger generation.

I would say mot BMW owners are the ones buying the ss100rr. they are loyal to their brand like we are to buell.
but Aprillia is the one that is kicking but in WSK, the bmw are not even stepping in their toes.
But its good to see more brands in WSB which now AMA is back to its bring self.

You haven't seen a bike with those adjustments before? What do you think that swingarm is for? : )

Buell2001b, you'd be wrong. Traditional BMW riders have no interest in Superbikes. The traditional BMW rider is far more interested in long distance comfort than all out speed. The S1000RR is attracting a whole new demographic into the dealerships (which is exactly what it was supposed to do).

Froggy, it's the steering head angle adjustment that I'm most curious about.

Obviously you can adjust the wheelbase via the swingarm on almost any bike, some more than others.

Pwnzor- I think it's done with eccentric bushings for the steering head bearings. You swap in different sets of bushings to give different steering head angles.

Ahhh so it's not adjustable on the fly, like at a fuel stop... Whole front end has to come off...?

Yes you need to pull the triples out to change the angle

Ok, so it's not really a feature of the bike itself. Still, it's pretty cool to be able to do that.

Actually, there is an aftermarket company (can't remember the name) that made that feature available for HDs as well, with their "kits". I believe the name was Seiger or something like that, but can't remember for sure.
