Anyone have a set of roland v drums? More specific the better ones with the mesh heads not the rubber pads. I'm looking at buying a used set from someone. It has a few year old model td-8 brain. Only thing I dnt like is it doesn't have the "swinging" cymbals. Just the rubber pad type. Guys asking 1000 bucks. I dnt even play drums. I play bass, but always mess around on drums.

I have a set of Roland TD-6 with all rubber triggers. I've always wanted to upgrade to the mesh head because they give a better feel while playing. Don't worry about having the rubber cymbals, you can whack the shit out of them, they're pretty rigid.

I love them because I can put on my Bose QC2 headphones and jam out at 3am and no one can hear me. My 2 year old loves them too.

I'm just worried ill have em a month and will get bored and not use them. I don't even know if I can do this but I want them so I can play a song and play along/remix it and record it (me playing and the song) what's required for that?

Do you play drums now?

If so, do you enjoy playing them?

If the answer to the second question is yes, then buy the set. I haven't messed with recording tracks with it but the manual for mine seemed pretty straightforward. Laptop, cables and some type of recording program and you should be good. I just use mine for practicing. I haven't been in a band in years and with the 2 year old and one on the way, I don't have much time for playing.

PM JimDuncan69 for recording on a laptop. He does tons of it.

I can say that that're great to own and if you can swing the grand then get it.

If you don't like them after a while you can trade them to me for a bunch of Buell stuff. : )

i just bought the TD4 set for a grand brand new at Guitar Center. it has the mesh snare and rubber pads for the toms. i LOVE THEM!!!!! they are amazing to record with. i run mine in to my mac via midi interface. then use Addictive Drums for the sounds. it sounds better than any live set i have ever recorded.

if i was you i would jump on it. roland stuff holds it's value really well. play the snot out of it and if you don't like it put it on craigslist you should break even with no problem.

I've owned my TD-6 for about 7 years or so and I bought mine used. Actually I traded for it for my old POS Tama Rockstar drumset. One of my best trades ever, I paid $250 for the Tama's. : )
