I just got my ECMspy and made my cable. Yesterday I was able to reset my TPS. Bike runs ok to begin with so not much difference. I did lower the idle a bit. I have a Spec-Ops pipe on the way next week, and the only mod I have now is the 07 airbox (bike is 06 Uly) is there anything I can do with it now? Or should I just wait till I get my pipe? I already have my ecm backed up.

I think you are supposed to go out and ride it for a couple of miles at a steady 3500 rpm, to do what, I can't remember...

do you have a laptop? if so, you can go out and do some data logging to see how the bike is running, and give you an idea of what you may want to change to enhance the bikes performance.
You will need to do this again after you install your special ops pipe.
I have the spec ops pipe, and an open airbox on my XB12, i've done a few mods to the ECM with ECM spy including the square idle.
I've since installed an EBR race ECM, still tinkering around with that, it's a little flat on the bottom end.

The best thing you can do right now, is open ECMspy, and click on the help tab on top. then click on the tuning guide, and print it out.
Study it well, it will become your bible, it will explain all you need to know to tune your ECM properly.

Good luck!

Wow...was just reading up on the Data-logging. Then I read about the megalog viewer.."Damit Jim!! I aint no rocket scientist!! (lol) there is alot more involved than I thought! I am definately gonna need to print and read up on this.

But... can't I just load up a race fuel map for after the SpecOp install? I have my eprom and fuel maps backed up.

I have these maps:
04 Race
05 Race - Stock
06 Race - Stock
07 Race
08 Stock

Thats what came with the software. I am just wondering (and want to verify) that the other XB12 years are not needed.

thanks!!!

Oh yea, I have a laptop. Gonna have to place it in my tripletailbag.

I went and got the book 1/2 sized and printed, both versions in one book. It was only 24.oo at fedex-kinkos.
