I just got an E mail from the folks at 'Lake Express'. Motorcycles ride FREE for May and June!!

Check out their web site! In '07 we paid over $70.00!

your bike rides for free but you don't.... you cost 85 bucks.... I got the same email... sent it to Mikef5000... he looked into it because I knew there was very little chance that the C-bus crew could make the 12:30 departure time

I thought the same thing as you.....

The bikes travel free, but it's $85.00 per person; plus taxes and fuel surcharge. For Terri and I it would cost $191.00 one way.
That buys more than enough gas to get through Chicago. Also, the Ferry only makes two runs a day; leaving Muskegon at 10:15 A.M. and 4:45 P.M.
We were thinking about taking it, but it wouldn't really save us any time and would cost a lot more. The only positive is that we wouldn't have to deal with Chicago traffic.

you really got lost!

We knew that we were in Chicago, so how could we be lost??... LOL

We had a group of Uly's with 1 Firebolt in tow..... The Firebolt fuel light came on as we hit town..... WOOO HOOO.

I thought we could make to the other side of Chicago before he needed gas.... I was wrong.
The GPS took us to a fun part of town.

Lol as long as you get lost in the right places it's not that big a deal.

I'd avoid the Boulevards though

Next time I am taking the long way around via the far west route. The express lanes are silly slow as they travel through Chicago on the Skyway. The entire 2+ hours I am thinking to myself "Why are these lanes marked express when we are stopped?"

Well if the bike rides free, but I gotta pay even more than before for me, they can kiss my tail lights.

I am looking real hard at taking an extra day and doing the Northern route across that big damn bridge......Mack something or other. It just looks like a really cool ride.

For the return trip I will look into leaving at 4:30 am for the flight through the Windy City. It was fast and efficient the last time I was there. Even with my temporary handicaps.

Terri and I came home from Homecoming '07 through the U.P. and over the Mackinac Bridge (it's pronounced Mack-in-aw). Very long bridge, but worth the experience. You'll like it.

I'm debating taking the northern route on the way back from Homecoming this year. On the way out I am thinking like Swampy, take the long western route around Chicago. Just not sure if it is work the extra hour and a half. Plus I am wondering how bad the traffic through Chicago would be midday on a Wednesday, which is when I plan to ride out there.

The lake express is only about an hour or so from my house, but that just would'nt be much fun to spend most of my motorcycling time on a boat.

I would like to take the northern route. Either on the way there or back. Never been there before.

Well Gene, we might just have to hook up to make it happen. Got to consider Wolfie's company though. Have to see how it plays out.
