so i've got a full set of rain gear that i've had for a couple years for boy scouts that i got from gander mountain, and always figured i'd just use that if i got into a wet situation on the bike,....but now i got to thinking about it i was worried that the heat from the engine/headers may melt my pants.....they are more or less rubber covered cloth lol do any of you guys think they would melt? |

I got my Froggs Toggs from their website for not a lot of money, worth the look. |

I use a generic Tourmaster rain suit that I got for not much money. On my way to Sturgis I got rained a whole lot and really hard. PROVIDED the suit is put on properly and all zippers sealed, it does a really good job. I can't speak to the melting issue as I was riding my Road Pig. The Buell is a wash-and-wear bike and I guess I think I'm the same when I ride it cuz I've never used rain gear on it. |

I'm gonna be the odd man out here.... I commute daily here in Florida where yes in the sunshine state it rains ALOT. I went through two pair of Frogg Toggs before coming to the conclusion that they don't work well unless you are riding in light or normal rain. In a downpour you will be soaked. I use a Fieldsheer Cyclone suit and it works better than anything else I have ever had except for a Walmart rainsuit. I still get some dampness even with it. JMHO, Ken |

BTW, a header will melt a Frogg Togg suit, not on a Buell but a Sportster. Remind me to tell you sometime |

Frogg Toggs are good for the money, but you will eventually get wet. Down pore for 1/2 hour the work well. A day in the rain and you soak through in the seat real bad. Unlike rubber and plastic rain gear Toggs will breath. |
