Why don't Harley-Davidson consider building 100 bad ass, special addition, street legal Buell's with a full fairing. This would keep a small portion of buell going with a big demand. HD has invested in ground breaking technology! Why wouldn't HD use this to there advantage? By selling 100 street legal Harley-Davidson/Buell's this would keep HD in good standings with AMA and this would give us american's something to cheer for at AMA Racing event's when we beat the foreign motorcycle's. It's has been stated that Buell has a unfair advantage because of engine power or something? The reality of is that Harley-Davidson/Buell created and engine that meet's the AMA Racing standards! It is not are problem that Harley-Davidson/Buell has created a competitive winning motorcycle. Just because Honda, Yamaha and Suzuki has long seen ground breaking technology with there type of racing engine, fan's have no right to ridicule HD/Buell and AMA! Harley-Davidson/Buell and fan's are reaping the rewards for finding the edge and what has been invested by a man with a dream!!!!! I'm thinking like $27,000 Buell

Michael (Micheal) was some misprint lol.

you can just abandon your current user profile and start a new one with the correct spelling of your name if it bothers you. i missed an underscore (nilla_ice) on mine, but don't care that much.

and it would be beneficial for the enthusiast for buell to make just enough street legal production models so we can race in AMA and stuff, but i don't know if HD sees it that way. by now everyone's been let-go and all the equipment has been auctioned off. but i'm not gonna try to stop you from dreaming.....

If H-D(spit) did that they they would already have their racing program develpoment done, and cheap, compared to racing those XRBARGE things that they call a sport bike. Plus H-D(spit) would be competing in world class racing against all the manufacturers, Not just racing against themselves.

That's a VRSCR Street Rod.

I have to admit, they do hustle around a track pretty damned well. Probably why HD killed it / couldn't market it correctly.

- First VRSC with a 5 gallon tank
- Taller ride height, better lean angles (knee-down was very attainable)
- Mid/rear controls
- Inverted, steep-rake front end
- it really *is* a helluva motor...

I chased Tripp Nobles and others around Vegas International on those bikes, back in '06. It was a 3 day product knowledge course - the new Dyna chassis (with the first of the 6 speeds) one day, the VRSC's the next, and Buells on the third (my introduction to the Ulysses, and the day that got me back on a Buell after four long years). That Street Rod...damned near Uly-levels of performance and capability on the shorter, technical 'outfield' track. They never shoulda killed the model.

Kinda like they never shoulda killed Buell.

Now, I just wish folks would QUIT wishing HD would "bring back" Buell. Erik's not sitting around doing nothing...I'm just gonna wait and watch. And I can't say I'm sorry in the least that when(if) he does his Next Big Thing, it likely won't include HD.

ERIK should bring back Buell.

I have a feeling we'll see something along those lines, sooner or later. He's gonna take his time, do it right...but I have a feeling he will do it. The man is rabid about his bikes, and just like you don't have "ex-addicts"...I don't think he's capable of being an "ex-bike maker".

And a writers' note? This is pure speculation on my part. Except the VRSCR bit - that was a FUN week!!!! : )

The VRSC is the only HD bike i even though about buying. I think it would be a nice touring platform.

I was there for that!

I remember vividly watching Tripp back a VRSCA with bags and a windshield into turn 1.
AWESOME!!

The only thing that was almost more fun was riding a Suzuki Bulevard scraping floor boards all over and making fools of the "HD" riders on the much better bikes!
That was funny!

+1, and +1- rolling with Tripp Nobles...

I got to go to Barber with 2 buddies to do the product demo day on the 1125R when it was introduced. I didn't know what my buddy knew- if you wanted a HOT lap on this new Buell, you should get in behind Tripp for your laps.

Tripp was gimping around on crutches or a cane, having had a rough get-off a couple of weeks earlier- kinda reminded me of Yoda- once he got in the saddle, however, GOOOOO!!!

One time after he came back in with a group, a couple of the more "conservative" track coaches (Yaaaawwnn!) jumped his ass for leading such a hot lap. Turns out my bud had answered the question "how are the brakes?" with "hadn't gone fast enough to need them yet"- Tripp fixed that for them! Plus, my bud's a GIRL! LOL! Turned out that the track marshal was her former track instructor, she knew everybody- so of course she got the down-low on who to follow around the track...

We invited Tripp to a steak dinner at Ruth's Chris that nite- talk about a fun dinner conversation! ; )

BTW, the 1125R is HELLA FUN on the track at Barber! : )

I nearly bought a VRSCR (I think that's what is was or at least what they told me ???)for just that, tall enough to corner ok, big sound, back seat room for the lady, and a 180 rear for again ok cornering.
the guys on the floor knew so little of the bike it took them 15 minutes to figure out how to put gas in it...
but there was a Buell in the corner and I fell in love with necked twins all over again. end of story

and if I didn't feel that HD was flushing everything worth while and killing themselves slowly (or not so) I would consider finding a used one again. because all the new ones have forward controls low slung setups and pipes that drag while rubbing on a big fat fatty of a rear tire
