They definetly have a serious electrical problem with them and I hope it doesn't take someone getting killed for them to admit it and fix it.

Bit late for that as I do believe someone has died already.

The scary ones I heard of were the fancy-schmancy kind with keyless ignition and fly by wire controls!
All controls turned to baby toys and playstation joysticks!

My Fit has electronic throttle but at least I have a KEY and a CLUTCH.
Besides, there's only so much a 1500cc engine is going to do, right?

My Vette doesn't have keys either, but it has an off button. I can shut down the engine without putting it in park.
How do they turn the Prius off when they park them?

You press the park button, then you can press the power button.

It has been posted before on here, apparently you can hold the power button for several seconds in order to shut it off, but I never had a chance to test that. You can't just put it in neutral either, you can move the joystick to neutral, but usually at speed it will just beep and ignore you. I had an 07 Prius as a company car at a previous employer, and did have unintended acceleration once briefly due to the cruise control trying to take over.

I'm surprised that Toyota's not doing better in NASCAR because of this.

There is a guy up here in St Paul that is sitting in prison for 8 years.
Was convicted of negligent manslaughter after his Camry ran into the back of another car.
2 kids, and the Mom were killed.
The guy insists the throttle stuck and the brakes didn't work.

Some of they jury now believe him. Even the victim's family says he should get a new trial..
Toyota is hosed..

Thanks Ourdee. I stand corrected. I hadn't read that whole article and actually heard the news on the radio and linked to the article.

Bluzm2 I sure hope that if his Camry fell into the range of years of recall that he is given a new trial at least. That would be a shame for him to sit in prison for a manufacturing flaw.
