Just got my SCALA G4, tried to mount it to my economy priced Zox modular helmet without much success. This is my first communicator and I was wondering if anyone has mounted something similar on a modular or are these basically for open or full face helmets only. Let me know what ya have, and if you have links for the helmets that would be appreciated!

My scala fm has mounted to an old icon and my current rf-1000 without issues. (Until a careless friend snapped the clip in half)

I considered velcro on the unit and the helmet instead of using the clip. Would that work in your aPplication? Sorry I'm not much help - never had a modular helmet.

When I had the AGV Longway modular helmet, I used 3M Dual Lock to mount my Scala Rider Q2. Stuff is like Velcro on steroids!

Whats the problem? Does it not fit between the helmet and padding? You may have to remove some of the padding. Nowhere to put speakers?

I noticed after i installed mine that i will have to move the mic boom out of the helmet before putting it on. No big deal!

I forgot you had that helmet. It still should work fine!

I have a Q2 on my modular HD helm.
I used the sticky mount that came with it.
It has held fine for 2 years now, just have to watch the boom when lowering the front and I cut out some room for the speakers.

I probably bought the helmet to small (I like a snug fit). When I position the mike inside the helmet, I'm practically eating it . I'm considering the shark evoline or the shoei DS. Anybody use the helmets with success, I've heard the shark runs big and fits a little odd

You could try modifying the foam on the boom.

Try it without the foam and see how much noise you get. If noise is excessive, you could try alternative materials. Nylon, etc...

I tried taking the plastic and foam of the flip-up portion of the helmet off , even removed I can pucker up and kiss the front of the helmet ( no tongue though!). I guess it's like growing out of your favorite jeans, you just have to admit defeat and buy a bigger size! Thanks for all the suggestions.
