I just thought I'd separate this idea out from the parent thread, which can be found here: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/406 2/543596.html?1267704143 For anyone on Facebook that doesn't have me... "friended", I've started a group to promote the idea of firing the morons in Congress. Not a new idea to be sure, but I didn't see anything set up on FB already with this aim, and we all know how stuff goes viral over there. So, if you're interested in the cause, head over there, sign up, and mention it to your other friends, and let's see what we can do about it! http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#!/group.php?gid=341196980683 If you have any good video links, article links, or other items to post up that further expose the corruption of our Congress, please jump right in and add them to the wall! ~SM (Message edited by Swordsman on March 04, 2010) |

I'm in with you. But, is there any way to post a link or voting records to show who voted for or against some of these stupid bills that would help. Most people do not take the time to look up or what the bill is or there Reps record on the things they are voting on. It can be a double edged sword for just voting them out. Home work before Voting or you will fail the test. |

Yeah, that would definitely be good info to have. I'll see if I can dig it up. Which issues should be included? Bank bailout, auto bailout, health care.... what else? I no remember good right now. ~SM |

Sweet! I'm pretty impressed with the progress thus far: 47 members in less than 24 hours. I do wish some other people would post stuff though. ~SM |

Thanks IndyBuell! I don't want to vote out my state Rep. He actually does a good job for us. He also shows a pretty good approval rating on that open congress site. Over twice as high as our state average. I also have personal knowledge of him supporting legislation on the request of his constituents. A group got names on a petition, made an appointment to see him and made their case. Within days it was announced that he signed on as a co-sponsor of the bill in question. My Senators OTOH, I can't wait to see them go! I mostly like the idea Sordsman, but don't do it blindly. |

Milt- Nope, Iowa has Senator Tom Harkin and Congressman Bruce Braley. Actually Braley is a good guy, just a misguided trial lawyer though and hard core leftist. Harkin, he's just an . |

We need intelligent voters. NOBODY who is participating in a "click to join" campaign is going to take the trouble to think when they're in the voting booth. REVIEW the voting records of the local, state and CON-gress representatives. Make YOUR vote count. "Vote the bastards out" is a nice sentiment - but THINK before voting. READ before voting. A reactionary electorate isn't any better than an ignorant electorate - and combining them ... scary. Don't cut off your nose to spite your face... REGARDLESS of party. By all means, vote out the bastards who can't balance a checkbook or who need to raise their credit limits in order to buy groceries but beware of what/whom you may be replacing them with. |
