Had a job to photograph an event at the New Hampton Downs Track this morning and I rode the Uly around the track.

No no - I mean I rode the Uly AROUND the track.

There was one spot down on the outside of turn four where you could cross up with small air, then drift across the new carpark under construction like a mini flat tracker.

Felt sorry for the poor Goobers just going round in circles. :-)

That haul truck has been sitting for a while, and that excavator has a really long boom!

Did you paint your windscreen or did you buy it like that?

$5 rattle can of matt black from the hardware store.

Clean it, squirt it evenly on the inside - job done.

Also of interest was that I saw three other Ulys on the way home.

It's called an Arai Tour-X in this market.

Superseded model now. But it's my Uly hat. I have Sports and Cruiser jobs too.

Few people (including me) use them like you are supposed to.

The idea is you take the peak off it to use as a touring helmet en-route to the adventure ride, then when you get there - you put the peak on and take the visor off and it's an off-road helmet.

Reverse for the ride back home.

Subsequently it's extremely versatile - and not the best helmet at either job.

But dayammm it's cool.

Goes with the Beemer nicely too.

That is one of the few bikes I do actually like better than a Uly.

But seeing you could buy the Buell and a DR650 for the same dough....
